  • waaay too fast!! too fast! im born and bred irish and i play fiddle and those tunes are played far to fast! slow down :/

  • Shoot the soundman....

  • I can hear the 'tar just fine : ) Amazing, brilliant playing on both parts!!! Favorited.

  • Definitely, closer to the guitar - although the fiddle sounds beautiful.

  • Hello, what key is this played in?

  • Wow, I really like this, though I cant hardly hear the guitar.

  • I've been playing professionally for years and to add my tuppence worth this is a good set with a very good young guitarist and an extremely good fiddler rocking the house and I've never seen such a fuss about sound which is always tough with acoustic instruments and often out of the control of the artist. Loved it.

  • This is one of my favourite BACHAND sets

  • i heard both very well and LOL @ dwaynedibbly i was to xD hahaha. . amazing

  • i find myself tapping my feet almost uncontrollably.

  • Guitar was too low. The sound from the fiddle overpowered it and drowned it out.

  • Very nice!

  • It seemed to me that the guitar was like a man leading a slightly uncontrolable horse - which was the fiddle - which wanted to kind of run-away. Had he "kept-up", the horse would have bolted completely. It's a good one for me, I store the address !

  • Finally, some proper tunes with some proper guitar backing. I canne be doing with all this youtube rubbish. Session guitar for me any day. Well done. I enjoyed it.

  • the guitar is too loud, it should be softer aswell

  • No, the guitar is not too loud. But notice they are playing to a single microphone. The only balance is done by themselves on stage.

  • do u play the guitar? if u do u shud know that a guitarist can control how loud he plays quite easily

  • Yes, I have played the guitar for 44 years. You? I'm saying the balance was very good. Do you understand English? Do you know how to spell "you" and "should"?

  • yes i play the guitar but only for 5 years since i'm only 14, what country are you from? and yes i understand english, i just dont go around youtube trying to put grammaticaly perfect comments

  • a mic closer to the guitar, maybe?

  • @PodMonkeyCWC OK, might as well set everyone straight on what is going on sound-wise.... Quinn's guitar has a pickup & Qristina's fiddle has a pickup, so they're both going through their pickups. The lone mic is a vocal mic for Qristina to talk to the audience. The sound levels were monitored & adjusted by the sound-man. We like the fiddle & guitar levels to be fairly even so both players are featured. Hope that answers the questions/comments left regarding sound. Cheers, Marie (the mom)

  • well in all fairness the fiddle is being played through the mic

and the guitar if you look carefully is plugged into an amp

so the mic volume was louder than the amp volume

  • did you not realise that the guitar has a lead?

  • sometimes I wish I had never played the fiddle, and then I realise I did anyway, so tell myself to get over it..... maybe I will play the drums. Always great been able to Identify whom is playing what bloody instruement, and recognising where your appropriate que to comment comes into play..... some have unfair advantage, then again what is and is not bloomin fair, I am unable to tell anymore. You changing my bloomin spelling dear?

  • Is that a baritone guitar?

  • no, just a small boy... heavy on the bass end.

  • hey, i think i saw her some years ago when i visited my finacee's aunt and uncle. the ceilidhs in the creamery ROCK! thank you guys for keeping it up! kind regards from germany. chris

  • love it :o)

  • Nice!! I wish I could do that.

  • I heard you guy at the Maple Sugar fest in Nanaimo. Wonderful playing! I was on playin with the Celtic dancers a couple of acts earlier. I'd love to get a chance to play a few tunes with you if your ever up to Nanaimo again.

  • Awesome set!

You guys are so freaking awesome

  • wow,guys!absolutely brilliant!

  • irish rulez! i love you all irish ppl!

  • Very nice playing, to both of you! I especially love Quinn's guitar playing, very good.

  • The guitar needs to be amplified more. Otherwise very good!

  • great fiddle playing and guitar backing.she is the only person i have ever heard playing miss susan cooper and i have been to lots and lots of sessions this reel is a cracking reel and should be played moore

  • Hi, yes, unfortunately it's always a bit of a battle dealing with "sound people"... the guitar should be a little louder... Qristina :)

  • yes i agree, but still u shud make sure that the accompaniment doesnt overpower the melody. i played in the all ireland fleadh in piano accompaniment!

  • They play so well, but the melody completely overpowered the accompaniment.

  • In other words the balance was just right! ;-)

  • We just subscribed to your channel - our first and only subscription so far - can you tell we are rookies with all of this!?!? It is fun to meet & hear great music, and we really enjoy hearing y'all! We will keep a lookout for more of your videos!

  • Wow, you two are amazing! Keep up the great work!

  • Wow! Excelente! Qué edad tienen ustedes dos?

  • Mi hermano tiene 11 anyos y yo tengo 16 en este video (es de este verano pasado). Thanks for your great comments!

  • wow! you rock!!! excelent video! your brother is very young, is increible

  • Qristina tu parles espagnol aussi ??

  • Wow! Excelente! Qué edad tienen ustedes dos?

  • Miss Susan Cooper and The Wedding Reel are Scottish, not Irish. FYI

  • thanks, we'll look into it.

  • Well, if you're doing so you might be interested that Miss Susan Cooper was recently composed by Ronnie Cooper and The Wedding Reel is actually called MacLeod's Farewell recently composed by Donald Shaw. We can blame Lunasa for getting this incorrect, as Donald already has, and for confusing this with the Cape Breton wedding reels. LOL!

  • Very cool.

  • is that D tuning?

  • Hi, I'm playing in DADGAD (DADGAD spells the notes of the strings). Merry Christmas! Quinn :)

  • Great Playing... Particularly unique guitar accompanyment.

  • PaddyGonzalez, no, it doesn't make you Irish, for you're already Spanish, but your offspring will be 50% Irish ;)

And this tune is really amazing.

  • this is great! love your channel!

  • Brilliant. Thanks for posting your comment. Your playing is fabulous. I'm 100% Spanish but lived in Ireland for 7 years and was married to an Irish woman for 14, so that makes me partly Irish, doesn't it? Irish music is getting to be quite popular in Spain together with other "celtic" styles. Specially in our northern regions.

  • Great set. Wish I had been there to see it live.

  • I love this set!

  • Hey this is at the Port Hawkesbury Ceilidh, that's awesome! You sound amazing as usual!

  • More great playing!

Miss Susan Cooper is a Shetland tune, by the way, by Ronnie Cooper, though it's become quite popular in Irish sessions.

  • cool tune!

    *****

    pepi

  • Awesomeness!!

  • The last tune is " Wedding´s reel"

  • I hope you two are staying seriously minded on getting that CD out. Tell me you've been in the studio. Thanks for the great vids.
