  • You and your group are awesome. People take great influence from people like you. Nice Job.

  • @2112rushfan1 hanks for the really nice comment. I just wanted to share the fun we had doing this. Take care

  • Dude, great job!! Great Equip!!! Love it!

  • Thanks, glad you enjoy.

  • 3:55 = Epic. I love Scars!

  • Indeed , scars is like 'the thing". I always use it ti warm up... thanks for the comment.

  • GREAT !!! i love it

  • Glad you like!

  • I think the part i like best is that it is not neils solo. It is YOUR Neil solo. Great job, you left alot of room for improvement witch is got.

  • Indeed, it is largely influenced by him but I also like to put some of my ingredients to change the taste a little bit. For the improvement there is always a lot of room for that!! HA! HA! thanks for the nice comment.

  • How did you tune the drums? They sound awesome and a lot like Neil's vapor trails tour drums. I can't believe how those upper toms sound. Great job.

  • Well I use the drumtork and fine tune by ear at the end if necessary... The soundman also plays a very important role in getting ride of unwanted overtones... hum when it's to technical I'm not sure of my english.. Do I make any sense to you?

Thanks for the very nice comment.

  • @NeilPeartmood No problem.. And yes I understood. You have a good ear!

  • awesome job!! but I guess you get a little faster in tempo late in the waltz section.

  • Thanks. I rever realized I was a bit faster at the end of the waltz section. I will take a look at that. I felt there was much bigger holes in my performance than this one. Glad you like. Take care.

  • Great solo Stef, and I love the sound of your kit.

    Vito Montanaro (drums/percussion)

Rush Project - tribute band (Brasil)

  • Thanks, l love the Scars section and the jazz hits as well. I can play those jazz hits until my wife gets crazy. Hé! Hé!

    take care.

  • What?!?! No cowbells?

    Great stuff, just teasing.

  • It's funny you mention that. I like to listen to it but hate to play the cowbell... I just do not know why... Makes me feel dum... LOL! The rest well... It's fun!

    Take care

  • Cool! I will tell you when I'm ready. drum corps is very nice. I always warm up with such rudiments. They really put me in the mood, and I nice practice so that's fine.

    Happy drumming man!

    Stef

  • It comes from a sample CD I bought a few years ago. I will try to make a .wav version and we will try to send it via other medium ok?

    Stef

  • Thanks man! Funny story about Peart LOL. Yes we are just human. So I try to keep things simple and have fun. If you can try to listen to the other 2006 solo, you might see other variations of the same principles. It is hard to say wich one I like better...

    Stef

  • Thanks for the nice comment. Yes there is a portion of Subdividions somewhere in there... Play music is fun and we try to keep it like that...

    Stef

  • What type of drums where you using 3:07? Just asking :)

    Nice video BTW.

  • Hi, I do not understand the question. Can you be more specific?

    Thanks,

    Stef

  • Ok, sorry if I wasn´t specific. What I was trying to ask is that what kind of drums were you using in 3:07. Where they little snares, toms or something?

    Thanks.

  • Nice, but I find hard to beleive that you really mean that. A copy is never better than the real thing to my point of view. But i'm happy you enjoyed, that's what I like with Youtube, So many thing to ear and see..

    Stef

  • Your transition sfx are way better than Peart's

  • question, during the waltz when u swith to a tamborine is it a tamborine it with a bass pedal,a tamborine foot trigger,or a regular sample pad mounted down low and hit with a bass pedal.or even something different

  • I use a KD7 Roland trig pedal that I triger via a bass drum pedal. Is that what you wanted to know?

    Thanks Stef

  • cool thats what i was wanting to no thanks

  • Very expensive of course. I would say around 25K 28K all included, acoustic, electronique, cymbals, samplers...

I just added a brand new Neil Peart R30 snare drum and a MalletKat... It keeps on going up..

    But hey, it's fun...

    Stef

  • Yes indeed! I totaly ruined that portion. But I'm glad to ear that you only made comnents that one flaw as I see a few more there!! LOL But hey like I said it is only a very pale reflection of the real thing.. But it is fun to do! Thanks for the nice comments!

    Friendly,

    Stef

  • Great Video dude, I hope you have a guy like Gump that sets the kit up for you LOL and a big truck to carry it around

  • Glad you like it! Sadly at our beginer level it'a all done by ourselves! That why at the end of the day timing is off a little... Too tired to keep it all together, Beleive it or not, that all fits in my Toyota Matrix 2004!!!! I have pictures to proove it!

    Take care,

    Stef

  • Awsome! Really enjoyed watching this.

  • you did the scars beat! never seen anyone but neil do that before. amazing, man

  • Thanks man, that is a really nice comment. It looks harder than it is really. I personally struggle with snare rudiments... With family life and work I do not put the time needed to get better. But the fun is there.. That what counts for me... No more fun would equal no more drumming...

  • you are great at tuning your drums sound like the ludwigs from counterparts, very nice sound

  • Thanks! I use a machine that gives me the hamonic vibration of the room, then I divide that by my age and multiply that by my social security number to get the proper tension...PFFF Just kiding!!!!

I use the DRUMDIAL and experiment different tension to get a warm natural sound. I must admit that it is an endless battle to search for "THE SOUND". My DW is what comes the closest to what I have in mind. I wish I had more time to practice to make it sound better..

    Friendly,

    Stef

  • dont ya just love the sound when small toms are cranked really high

  • Yes I do indeed, But it is hard to keep a weel balance sound betwen the excitement of a high pitch tom and the resonnance of a lower tom in that same sound (do I make sens here? sorry for my bad english)

  • ya i know what you mean. i find it helps to use 2ply heads on the high toms and 1ply on the low toms. another cool idea i want to try is to use evans ec1 on the low toms, and regular g1s on the high. i think that would turn out really well.

  • good stufff man!

  • Thanks man! I try to have fun! And I do...

    Stef

  • good effort, I suppose Neil takes a bit of following!
