@EmperorBless 2 months is a bit long for the average character model, but it depends on a few things. One is whether or not you're working off a reference, secondly is how detailed you intend to go. Software/workflow is another factor. A quality high poly Zbrush sculpt can be done in a few hours to a week, but some high poly models/scenes can take months, especially when done in spare time. I can easily put 100+ hours in a single work of mine, but I'm very patient with my art. Some are not.
Zbrush and Mudbox are both sculpting packages yes but like most things in life each has its own advantages as well.guessing that him useing mudbox at times is for easier 3d navigation plus the ability to texture directly from high res images than zbrush poly paint which needs you to subdevide the mesh high to get a texture.But then he switches to zbrush for fine details and various sculpting tools.
