  • lol i love that in real life there would never be farmlands next to skyscrapers good city though

  • Nice slideshow!

  • hey i really enjoy watching this video but i think yu should make mor....also i been think bout geting this game would yu recomend it ?

  • I do like this game but the trade system is so annoyingly bugged. There should be a simple one click button to cancel all trading with a specific city under that citiy's trade window. I've adjusted all trade exports with Omnicorp to zero and for some reason I'm still trading unknown tokens with Omnicorp.

  • Personally, if it was me and I had THAT many trades as you had, I would have wiped my city just to tank the economy on the server to show MonteCristo the flaw in their design. It's like in WOW, how nobody has been able to run the auction house for any real extended amount of time, it's designed well in that regard. But to have one player be able to tank the economy in CXL shows a design flaw in the game back then. Fortunately with 2011 out tomorrow, we can now trade in our own cities.

  • @DesertRidgeline But it did, and daily. When the trades would expire it was a nightmare for me and the server. It got to the point where I was literally required to spend about 8 hours of trading things before i could get into a city to start making it bigger. And at that point, you build like a mad man until you pass out. Because the second you wake up, you have 8 hours of balancing to do again :(

  • @DesertRidgeline Yeah, it was insane. I got to a point I had to spend literally 6 to 8 hours trading off tokens until my cities were positive again. And due to the lag and all that, it just made the game unplayable ;( But at least they tried, there hasn't been something like this before, so I give them credit for trying :) Was fun while it lasted.

  • I just wish the online version was back. :( I nbever gotta chance to play that. BTW, nice city. :)

  • @Denon3333 Thanks :) Yeah, the online was the main draw of the game. Every time I get interested in playing the game, I try to play the single player and get like 15 minutes into it and go meh, and play something else. I miss the online play as well ;/

  • your computer is damn slow

  • @albert3366 LOL thats the thing, its NOT the PC, its the MMO :( Once you had that many millions of people in a city plus having thousands of trades going on at the same time, the game was near unplayable at some times. The trade window was like a laggy virus ridden PC surfing the net :( My PC is quite uber.. trust me it was the MMO if you played it back then you would know, it was probably why the game failed.

  • if you are looking for an easy city building game, get tropico 3

  • @hijcmaddox1 I don't know if it is easier than this one. Tropico 3, your citizens can rise up and overthrow you. Here the worst that happens is you go broke. That being said, I LOVE Tropico 1 and 3, they are GREAT games. I play it at least once a week sometimes, when I am feeling like I want to play something like Sim City and maybe something more dangerous like Civ 4, its a good mixup of sorts.

  • is this basicly like an uber sim city?

  • @hijcmaddox1 Its not really an Uber Sim City. It is an MMO version of Sim City. As in, all the cities are REAL people. However... I think the game failed in March.. I stopped playing towards the end of last year I think. I was the most powerful guy in like 7 out of the 12 charts on my server. I hit the end game and there were no plans for more at that time, so I got bored :(

  • @mattdawg420 it looks way better than sim city 4, i hate playing sim city now because my computer runs it at 1 frame per second, yet it plays the original halo really well. i wasn't really good at sim city anywaymy citizens always called me the prince of darkness. is there a non-online version mode on this?

  • @hijcmaddox1 the visual appeal of the game is there for sure, that is hard to deny. But the gameplay that made this game work was the MMO aspect. Your city needed to specialize in one or two things and then export the excess to buy the resorces your city would then need. The game was VERY laggy in the MMO aspect of the game, due to the complex trade systems. I had literally thousands of trades so if a city of mine went negative the whole server economy would tank, lol.

  • hmm i wonder if i should get this game?

  • From what I heard, and I should like go to the website and confirm but I just can't do it. But I think the online portion of this game is gone at the end of this month. But the single player isn't horrible. The online factor made it unique, but laggy and limited.

  • The game looks very cool, but i've seen from other videos that when you build a big city, the game lags really hard?

Is that just the recorder or is it true that it lags?

  • It was... I think the game died. I like hit the end game of it and they released it too early. They didn't get enough subs. so the game I think went under or this is the last month or something. And it WAS laggy as hell.. you have no idea, it was not ready. But sometimes they run out of money when making stuff. Mortal Online is ABOUT to release from BETA and it has some problems but the game has much potential! My city was soo big it lagged to play it XD.

  • @mattdawg420 Hmm thanks for the reply.

Should I buy this game or isn't it worth my money? (:

  • Back then perhaps. You might check out their website and see if the game is over at the end of the month or not. The online version will not be out from what I heard, so if you want to see the online it maybe over or close to it from what I heard. But it can be played offline a bit too, just the online aspects made it an MMO.

  • @mattdawg420 Oke, thanks for the help. ;)

  • That is what I am here for ;)

  • lol your pc fails XD

  • If you saw the specs on my PC you wouldn't say that....

The Dev's failed ;( Also, the SIZE of my city was beyond what they thought they could account for with the trade system. I had thousands of things in the trade system and so it was mostly server lag ;(

  • it's a good game, but my graphics card over heats. so i can barely play for 20 minutes.

  • Really? Why type of card do you have? Also, what is located next to it in your case? Perhaps you could put an extra fan that fits into one of the card expansions slots in the back. They usually work pretty well and are cheap cost wise. I had a card a few years ago like that, and after I put a few extra cooling measures in my case it fixed it.

  • Hey!

it's an Asus ENG500GT. it has a heat sink. it's located just below the CPU. yeah i think adding an extra cooling system would work, but considering i'm super stingy, i just stuck it on the window seal so the breeze can come through.lol besides i know squat about computers, so i wouldn't have a clue how to install one. but i did pay $60 for the game, i should probably consider investing some upgrades to play it. thanks for the advice!

  • Well that might be part of your problem to be honest. The fans don't work if the case is open. They are designed to pull the amount of air in the case. So if the case is open, they can't push enough air to keep the card cooled. It seems that having the case open would keep it cooler, however ironically it doesn't work that way.

  • Can you save your cites?

  • what is the difficulty of this map? maybe 70%???

  • There were two maps shown but that sounds about right. Difficulty really only means how much money you will spend in transforming. The harder maps have more resources, so are a better choice. But will cost you a bit in to flatten the land.

  • the game only has 3 music tracks XD

  • Yeah the music is VERY limited.. and the silence in between each track doesn't help. I mean if I know I could feed myself for the effort I would write some tracks for them or something, lol. The game is lacking there for sure.

  • Cool cities :) I see ou also have difficulties keeping the people happy :P Traffic jams etc.. :P

I'd like to see more of your cities

  • i dont know why but the people on this are werid

  • awesome city

  • thanks man. The city now has 16.5 million people and 13 blue prints, if you get a chance to stop by in the game :)

  • oh .. what planet u play in?

and could u make a new video for ur city ?

  • i play on Prosporo and actually yes I can do that :) I had planned on it but got busy trying to keep up with all the trades, lol.

  • ok :)

  • i will XD am getin it tomoro

  • Kewl, I have actually taken a break for a while. It takes so many hours to get my cities just balanced due to the vast amount of resources I produce, and the fact I've max much of the end game content, I just haven't played much recently.

  • From about 4:31 on it isn't quite as laggy. It is a different smaller city, and I think I had just loaded the game, so the memory leak wasn't as bad. But if you want to see it less choppy it looks decent from there.

  • thanks dude appreciate the help, yesterday was first time I played without ending up bankrupt

  • No problem! Always glad to help people in game when it's not to laggy to type, lol. Hope you cities are coming along nicely, and thanks for the watching and ratings :) Subscribe too if you don't mind, I have more stuff planned shortly :)

  • Hi

    mattdawg. Awesome big city.

How do you make money. I play solo mode and always end up bakrupt, please help mate!

  • Import and Export is the key to the game. Specialize your city in something and export it to OMNICORP if you are offline or sell it to other players if you are online. Same thing with imports, when starting up online its cheaper to buy power, waste, and such then to startup your own. But for offline, export to omnicorp is the only way.

  • Thankyou very much Jbanto, Im always cautious buying games esp. niche ones like CXL the mixed reactions were also a put off. I aint really played CB games except SC1 when little.

CXL will complement my RCT collection and Sims 3, with it simplified style and accessability.

Hope you have fun with the game.

I looke forward to your views.

  • hey how do you that much moneAnd why do my retail keep on loosing money and why dont the houses build in my game~~

    thnx alot~

  • Well, i have 5 cities and have been playing since the second it released and lost a bit of sleep. But on retail, you might have too many. Try the bulldoze on a few and see if that fixes it.

  • Hi all! Yeah it is just about to hit 9 million pretty soon :) What do I think of the game ? Well, I like it, if i wasn't so damn good at it I probably wouldn't play it I guess ,lol. But it has issues like all games, we are hoping the devs keep up the patches and updates. And today they did a big one with the Blueprints for Mega Structures :) I put a few up.. still looking for the Statue of Liberty though ..

  • pretty deserted for a city as large as new york

this game fails I am disappointed

    and no public transport? wtf?

  • depends what sections you go through, unfortunately due to the non multicore and memory leak issues i wasnt able to go in more dense jobs. But part of the lowerer traffic you are seeing is that I grided the city it so that not everyone is going the same way at the same time. Pub. Trans will likely be out in a couple weeks i dont bet.

  • Yo man. Hows that 12mil comin?

  • For some reason I missed that detail. I mustve skip thru the vid or was flicking between another program whilst watching. do u have the game? what you think of it?

  • Wow huge city, how many pop. you have. What is your thought on the game?

  • you lag a bit dont you...

    Exelent work though.

  • I lag with FRAPS up :( In game it runs pretty well. But there is a memory leak in the game and it doesn't support multicores, so yeah ;/
