I love him for loving the movie, it's definitely one of my favourites too. It's such a rarely fascinating and beautiful film - but oh so misunderstood. Seeing people appreciate it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Almost like the feeling I get from watching the movie itself... Looks like I'll have to see The Village then. See if it is as great as Tuomas claims it is. Although I know he really got into it when he was going through the whole aftermath of Tarja's dismissal. I can understand why someone would seek refuge in something repetitive like that when they're going through a hard time, because people like that need the security of something they know, something that's reliable and won't spring and nasty surprises on them.

I've seen this documentary several times but it always moves me. Tuomas conveys so much emotion, especially in this part. I respect him as an artist and songwriter very much. His songs are so elusive, but you can still catch a glimpse of his soul in them.  He is such a beautiful person...even though I don't know him, just by listening to his music and watching his interviews you can feel like you know a small part of him.

The Village Soundtrack is very beautiful, especially The Gravel Road.

The most unbelievable and surreal thing about him (of all the countless surreal aspects of Tuomas) is the way he gets his emotions across... I don't think I've witnessed anyone more genuine in that way. And his music - he is not a separate entity from it, they are practically a part of each other and complete him somehow. The music speaks the words he feels - him being a quiet person and all.

It's impossible not to love him.

Beautifully put poisongal! I don't know if it's possible to fall in love with someone through their art, but I think a lot of women are in love with the artist within him at least. He's an amazing artist, a musical painter if that's a proper term. Because when you listen to the music, it's like you're looking at a painting with your ears, all of those beautiful colors and emotions. It's like Waterhouse/Monet/Dali and Theberge all at once.

I think watching "The Village" 10 times a week is something that you only do when you really are going through a tough time, but I can totally understand why Tuomas did it. I watch the film sometimes for similar reasons - to forget what's happening in the real world for 5 minutes.
