I can't believe I found this. When I was around 9 years old this was the first rap song, I ever memorized. This song is the start of influencing my whole career in music. I love Sweet Tee! I saw an interview and she is coming back! I can't wait. I'm a big fan. It would be a great thing if I could tell her how much her career made an impact on me.
I'm looking for a jam that had a sample of Sweet Tee where she said "This beat is so.." and another sample would end it with "outta sight". After a couple of bars the harmonica riffs would play. They used to play that cut around 11pm when thing were getting warmed up. Anybody who has a an idea of the title please share! Would be in your debt.
OMG...this was my ..ish!!!! The drumline at my school would play this on our way to competition and i would kill this song!! This takes me back, good to see someone still remembers hip hop when "she" was still blossoming. Thanxs
thank u soooo soooo much for posting this!!!! i've loved hip-hop (all 4 of its cultural components) since i knew what it was, and even though snp was my fav girl group back in the day, next the mc lyte, sweet tee was easily my fav female mc and sooo very underrated she was, too. it was a sad commentary, even then.
Da Best Evah! I used to ask for this week in week out at my local haunt when I was 16. DJ eventually gave me his copy cause he was sick o hearin me. Da Real.
Listen to how pure it sounds...This reminds me of the winter of 87. my homeboy Dj Byron B from Harlem use to play this joint all the time. I was a silly Sophomore.
i remember she came with whoodini, run dmc,ll cool j, and rakim to shreveport,la. and she totally wrecked it. i couldnt believe how beautiful she is. CLASSIC fo sho'
