I don't get you at all kid. Kent Hovind has his theories, and YOU HAVE YOURS. If you have to hate him for having his opinions your just a hypocrite. You respond to videos like you are a god or something. You also think that evolution is some kind of perfect event that causes all organisms to become perfect creatures. Evolution should be your god.
kent hovind has opinions which are not supported by evidence and data. that's not inherently a problem, but he teaches his ideas like they are SCIENCE and claims EVOLUTION is the real religion.

There are no holes in the theory of evolution. That is there has no evidence that has been found that contradicts evolution. ALL other sciences that have nothing to do with biology also support evolution. Evoluion has been proven over and over again.
Kid you think your a christian, and its completely pathetic. Wow, I know exactly how the theory of evolution works. Natural selection and "beneficial mutations" allow the organism to change over time you idiot. Considering evolutionists can't even give a rock hard example of a beneficial mutation. Evolution does not fit into the bible, IT SAYS THE EXACT OPPOSITE.
Alright then, tell me, how do bacteria all of a sudden begin eating nylon? Nylon has only been around for about 100 years. Did God give them the information to eat it 6000 years ago? It occured via a beneficial mutation.

Please look up the word create, and tell me where it says anything about poofing into existence. By the way, if God is not powerful by waiting millions of years for creation, why didn't we do it in six seconds and not six days? Why did he have to wait a week? He must not have been very powerful. Bad logic.
Why not six seconds? Or one second? Is God less powerful because he did not make is in one second? Of Course not.
So, what says he is less powerful just because he makes life gradually?
There is evidence from tons of different sources that show the universe to be older than 6000 years old. If Evolution is wrong, than God is a deciever. Right, the fossil record and genetics are hear just to test our faith and have us believe in Satan and his 'evil' theory? That's rediculous.
And I know you will reject all the evidence for it. Because even if we were to show 110% that evolution is true, even then you would cover your ears and scream "NO, NO! I believe God poofed things and thats that!"
That is besides the fact that if Creationism were right, then we can toss out all of biology, geology, paleontology, physics (radiometric dating), ecosystem dynamics, astronomy, relativity, and alot more. Most likely 80% of modern science that has put Man into the 21st century.

I never said God did not play a part in evolution, and I don't think we could be here without him. I'm sorry, 99% of evidence, minus the stuff that Creationists either misrepresent or make up all together. (Paluxy River Tracks, anyone?)
Answers in Genesis rejects most modern science, the same thing that got man out of the dark ages. See my above post.
Noah's ark has been disproved. You cannot fit the millions of species of animals that live on land onto a boat of that size. Also even by today's standards, building a boat of that size and making it out of wood is near impossible. the wood just cannot support itself on that scale and the boat would leak and then sink. It's a fallacy to say that just because you don't understand how something happened that means it did not. Let's say I don't understand how exactly a phone works. Does that mean it does not work? Bad Logic.
The Bible states nothing on how we were created. Just that we were.
Evolution is actually a great natural concept that allows life to diversify and survive in even the harshest of situations. If God used evolution, than it just shows how he can create an advanced system to create life on earth. Death is simply the end of life. Big deal. Animal death is not evil. For every animal death there is a new life. If you knew anything about an ecosystem you would know that.
Ok, yep and once humans finally had been created from evolution god pushed a button to give us souls and everlasting life. Is that a good argument? And what species were judged? Just modern day humans?
Genesis 1:26-28. How did God give man dominion over the fish and birds if he evolved over millions of years? Did He create us in his image as single celled organisms?
Is that because we never saw a single celled organism become a human?
Reality check, we don't have to see things directly to know it happens or that it is there. No one has seen an atom, but it seems that you probably don't have a problem with it. Or do you? Are we made of Jesustrons?
Certainly you are well to complain about what the teacher had presented.... but, you also said you go to a "Christian school." Shouldn't you therefore expect to be lied to and deceived by people who have a theological agenda to further? Seriously, how could you have expected better?
To find out what they can about historical events and life in historical times. Mind you, they do *not* do this by just reading the historical text and assuming anything it says to be true. They actually have to have a lot of knowledge, expertise and do a lot of work to tease some information out of a historical source. That's why it's a science, and not a hobby.
There is no need to "believe" historical texts. Historians do not "believe" historical texts: they research them, find out what they mean, place them in context.
you used so much double think man come on. You believe that the bible is just storys even though it does say that the earth has for corners and on 4 pillars but keep saying that Creationist are stupid but moderates are just as stupid atleast creationist actually believe what there god throws out
lol, evolutionary philosophy, lol when i here idiots lke ken hamm and hovind say things like that, i need to sit downxD it stuns me to think that some people judge it asif its a philosophy, next thing you know....they will be calling quantum theory a philosophy
hmm sounds like creatism is hitting close to home for you maybe my love for movies is to blame but an experienced personed may beable to turn this into a good movie though the heart of the conflict would prolly be overshadowed by movie makers love of CG
I'm sorry, I like you, but it's hilariously ironic for a Christian to call fellow Christians (fundie, but still Christian) delusional. You are right, they are delusional, but so are you if you continue to believe in Yahweh purly on faith. Take care.
Theres nothing delusional about that... Science = Study of the natural world. Science can make no comment on the supernatural. Kabane52 is against creationism.
If science cannot make any comment on the supernatural, then you cannot prove supernatural events, which gives us no reason to believe they occur. Unless you had other types of evidence.
What about the Laetoli tracks? Why is it that the fossils of creatures that still exist today, are found, they identify them for what they are-squirrels, bats, crocodile, alligators, turtles, horseshoe crabs, horse hoofprints, etc, but when they come across what anyone would identify as a human footprint, they dismiss it because the age of the rock doesn't fit their hypothesis?
The Laetoli tracks are dated to have occurred 3.6myo. Hominids existed back then. In contrast, hominids did not exist at the time of dinosaurs. w w w . pbs . o r g / wgbh / evolution / library / 07 / 1 / l_071_03 . h t m l
You prove my point; the evidence (human footprints) is determined not to be human because it doesn't fit the idea that man didn't exist then; the evidence says they did; either your hypothesis is incorrect or the rock dating methods are inaccurate.
And because it *can* also be interpreted as something other than a human footprint, *and* because all other evidence points to the likelihood that it is indeed *not* a human footprint, **and** because it has been determined scientifically that it *is* indeed not a human footprint.
My point is that if you can identify other creatures'footprints for what they are, why not human footprints? We know what they look like. Why make the exception when it comes to human footprints? Only because we assume we came from something else.
Yes, they were in all likelihood hominid prints. However, there's no reason to assume that the makers of those prints were H. sap, as there were some hominid species at the time that could just as well have made the tracks. Indeed, more likely so, as the tracks indicate a length of about 1 m. in height.
I would say they are in all likelihood human footprints. There are also two sets side by side; one was probably a child. Those footprints meet all the specifications. We don't do that with horseshoe crab fossils, horse hoofprint fossils, or anything else that survives up to this day. We only do this with human footprints.
If you want to call all upright walking hominids humans, you can. It's not very scientific, but it's your show. Most people however would call the makers of said tracks Australopithecus afarensis. Hominid, but far from H. sap.
If I find 3 my old footprints which could have been made by humans and by A. afarensis, and I have evidence that H. sap. *didn't* exists 3 my ago, but A. afarensis *did* than I'll interpret nearby (say, within a range of 200 km) found fossils of A. afarensis as evidence that the tracks were made by A. afarensis.
In the Laetoli tracks there is no question that they are hominid tracks. On the river bed tracks there is also no question (within the scientific body) that these tracks found alongside dinosaur tracks, are indeed not hominid, let alone human. The weight distribution is wrong. The "foot prints" have the great toe on the outermost part of the foot print (think walking with your legs crossed). They are much larger than human footprints as well.
According to Webster's dictionary: "any of a family (Hominidae) of erect bipedal primate mammals comprising recent humans together with extinct ancestral and related forms"
I would add that when used in talking about fossil evidence it is often used to imply that the creature in referrence is something other than human.
michamus-let me clarify- when used in talking about fossil evidence, it is used - by evolutionists - to imply that the creature in referrence is something other than human.
Which all evidence does indeed imply. According to the accepted definition, A. afarensis was not human. Furthermore, we know that H. sap. did not exist at the time those tracks were made.
XGralgrathor-"Which all evidence does indeed imply."
You are disregarding the evidence (human footprints) in favor of an hypothesis. If you saw those prints on a beach or in your yard you would say they are human. Again I ask why is it we identify fossils of animals that survive until today for what they are but are in denial when faced with human footprints?
(A afarensis="Southern Ape" Ape footprints are quite different than human footprints.)
If I saw these prints on a beach, I would assume they were human because they were recent, and therefore it is possible they were made by humans.
If I find footprints made in a time before humans existed, I would not assume they were human, because that would be logically impossible.
If I then found evidence of a hominid species living nearby capable of making these tracks, I would then assume that they were responsible for making them.
Australopithecus afarensis: An early australopithecine species that was bipedal; known fossils date between 3.6 and 2.9 mya (for example, Lucy).
The most extensive remains assigned to this species are found in Hadar, Ethiopia, including the famous "Lucy" partial skeleton and the "First Family" found at the A.L. 333 locality. Other localities bearing A. afarensis remains include Omo, Maka, Fejej and Belohdelie in Ethiopia, and Koobi Fora and Lothagam in Kenya.
1. The age of the footprint would make me doubt 2 things: the dating, and the origin of the print.
2. Doubts about the dating could be resolved by independent dating by another party. All parties agree on an age of about 3.6 myo.
3. Doubts about the origin could be independently investigated. There is in all honesty some doubt as to whether A. afarensis or A. anamensis produced these tracks. Humans remain a logical impossibility.
XGralgrathor-all are not in agreement about the age. Since being uncovered, they have been eroding quickly; even with added protection from the elements. It raises the question as to how could they could have been there for 3.6 million years.
You are being cheated out of a proper education. I'd feel sorry for you, but you educate yourself. I feel sorry for your classmates.
But don't let it get to you. The frustration you feel is healthy: it's a natural response from a rational thinker confronted by irrationality. Use that energy to effect change.
im so glad that i go to public school and im protected by seperation of church and state. if i had to learn about creation in school, id shoot myself in the head
Are most days in science class like this for you? I wonder if some of your teachers secretly, or not so secretly, dislike you for refuting or questioning what they say.
Hi XGraigrathor, you have a good point about the ad hominum thing. The reason I _ad_ed Hovind's _hominum_ was because the particular context---a teacher in a Bible school holding up Hovind as a role model--pointing him to a website of somebody who is, like in jail--is something which parents paying $25k a year for private school would tend to complain about.....seems like the teacher should avoid Hovind if only for ass-covering purposes...
Neptune and Pluto do not go around the sun, it is pure speculation because no one has ever witnessed a full rotation. Wow, that logic is retarded no matter how you look at it.
Kabane, I admire you so much for your determination to understand the universe as it really is. I shouldn't really have to say that, obviously, but you are a shining light, not just to Christianity, but to all people, and of all world views, many of which do not face reality. There is far too much nonsense in the world today.
The tracks were found under a layer of rock that was ripped off by a very fast moving river. They were made at the same time, though they are both dinosaur tracks.
I am an agnostic and see the worlds scriptures--bible, Vedas, tao te ching, Quran etc as a source of ethics, morals and values, but I would not use their descriptions of the universe to plan a mission to Mars.
The whole idea of Christian school make me cringe.

Genesis 1:26-28. How did God give man dominion over the fish and birds if he evolved over millions of years? Did He create us in his image as single celled organisms?
jraehennes 2 years ago
@jraehennes You are Right. Ya! Go in the woods and tell a Brown Bear you have dominion over him. See what happens.
Rubacant 1 year ago
Is that because we never saw a single celled organism become a human?
Reality check, we don't have to see things directly to know it happens or that it is there. No one has seen an atom, but it seems that you probably don't have a problem with it. Or do you? Are we made of Jesustrons?
Jesustrons are just as absurd as Creationism.

Which leaves us with three options:
1. The prints were made by an known species of hominid, but we have insufficient information at this time to confirm this.
2. The prints were made by an as yet unknown species of hominid.
3. The dating was wrong, the prints are no more than 600.000 years old, and the prints belong to a species of the genus Homo.

If science cannot make any comment on the supernatural, then you cannot prove supernatural events, which gives us no reason to believe they occur. Unless you had other types of evidence.

What about the Laetoli tracks? Why is it that the fossils of creatures that still exist today, are found, they identify them for what they are-squirrels, bats, crocodile, alligators, turtles, horseshoe crabs, horse hoofprints, etc, but when they come across what anyone would identify as a human footprint, they dismiss it because the age of the rock doesn't fit their hypothesis?
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
The Laetoli tracks are dated to have occurred 3.6myo. Hominids existed back then. In contrast, hominids did not exist at the time of dinosaurs. w w w . pbs . o r g / wgbh / evolution / library / 07 / 1 / l_071_03 . h t m l
michamus 4 years ago
You prove my point; the evidence (human footprints) is determined not to be human because it doesn't fit the idea that man didn't exist then; the evidence says they did; either your hypothesis is incorrect or the rock dating methods are inaccurate.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
And because it *can* also be interpreted as something other than a human footprint, *and* because all other evidence points to the likelihood that it is indeed *not* a human footprint, **and** because it has been determined scientifically that it *is* indeed not a human footprint.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
Sorry, let me clarify; "Hominids" apparently meaning not human.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Compared to the age of the footprints we're talking about, all hominids might be said to live in the same time frame.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
My point is that if you can identify other creatures'footprints for what they are, why not human footprints? We know what they look like. Why make the exception when it comes to human footprints? Only because we assume we came from something else.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
I need to say that I'm talking about the Laetoli prints which do indeed meet all the specifications for human prints.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Ah, the Laetoli prints. Waitup, I'm still out about those. They are likely hominid indeed.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
Yes, they were in all likelihood hominid prints. However, there's no reason to assume that the makers of those prints were H. sap, as there were some hominid species at the time that could just as well have made the tracks. Indeed, more likely so, as the tracks indicate a length of about 1 m. in height.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
I would say they are in all likelihood human footprints. There are also two sets side by side; one was probably a child. Those footprints meet all the specifications. We don't do that with horseshoe crab fossils, horse hoofprint fossils, or anything else that survives up to this day. We only do this with human footprints.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
If you want to call all upright walking hominids humans, you can. It's not very scientific, but it's your show. Most people however would call the makers of said tracks Australopithecus afarensis. Hominid, but far from H. sap.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
And you would assume it was Australopithecus afarensis because?
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Because of nearby found evidence of populations of afarensis. And because the tracks showed evidence of being made by a being like afarensis.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
You'd better double-check the "nearby" stats. And the tracks are indistinguishable from human footprints.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
If I find 3 my old footprints which could have been made by humans and by A. afarensis, and I have evidence that H. sap. *didn't* exists 3 my ago, but A. afarensis *did* than I'll interpret nearby (say, within a range of 200 km) found fossils of A. afarensis as evidence that the tracks were made by A. afarensis.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
XGralgrathor- you "know" humans didn't exist "3 million years ago" how? By what evidence? Age of the rock the print was in?
Did you google the images of these footprints and can you honestly say it looks any different than modern man's?
Also, does your proximity to a given footprint mean you made it?
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
By the ages of hominid fossils found around the globe. By the relation between these fossils and their contemporaries and precursors.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
How do you determin the ages of the "hominid" fossils?
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Usually, by the dating of the layers in which they were found.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
In the Laetoli tracks there is no question that they are hominid tracks. On the river bed tracks there is also no question (within the scientific body) that these tracks found alongside dinosaur tracks, are indeed not hominid, let alone human. The weight distribution is wrong. The "foot prints" have the great toe on the outermost part of the foot print (think walking with your legs crossed). They are much larger than human footprints as well.
michamus 4 years ago
There is no question they are human footprints.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Do you not understand what a hominid is?
michamus 4 years ago
According to Webster's dictionary: "any of a family (Hominidae) of erect bipedal primate mammals comprising recent humans together with extinct ancestral and related forms"
I would add that when used in talking about fossil evidence it is often used to imply that the creature in referrence is something other than human.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
"imply that the creature in referrence is something other than human."
ROFL! Nice try.
Pwned by your own definition.
michamus 4 years ago
michamus-let me clarify- when used in talking about fossil evidence, it is used - by evolutionists - to imply that the creature in referrence is something other than human.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Which all evidence does indeed imply. According to the accepted definition, A. afarensis was not human. Furthermore, we know that H. sap. did not exist at the time those tracks were made.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
XGralgrathor-"Which all evidence does indeed imply."
You are disregarding the evidence (human footprints) in favor of an hypothesis. If you saw those prints on a beach or in your yard you would say they are human. Again I ask why is it we identify fossils of animals that survive until today for what they are but are in denial when faced with human footprints?
(A afarensis="Southern Ape" Ape footprints are quite different than human footprints.)
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
If I saw these prints on a beach, I would assume they were human because they were recent, and therefore it is possible they were made by humans.
If I find footprints made in a time before humans existed, I would not assume they were human, because that would be logically impossible.
If I then found evidence of a hominid species living nearby capable of making these tracks, I would then assume that they were responsible for making them.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
XGralgrathor-which "hominid" are you referring to in this case? Lucy?
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
Australopithecus afarensis: An early australopithecine species that was bipedal; known fossils date between 3.6 and 2.9 mya (for example, Lucy).
The most extensive remains assigned to this species are found in Hadar, Ethiopia, including the famous "Lucy" partial skeleton and the "First Family" found at the A.L. 333 locality. Other localities bearing A. afarensis remains include Omo, Maka, Fejej and Belohdelie in Ethiopia, and Koobi Fora and Lothagam in Kenya.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
XGralgrathor-when faced with hard evidence (human footprint) why do you not question the dating instead?
(If you leave your fingerprints at a given location and a crime takes place later, what is called into question is the time you were there.)
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
XGralgrathor-all are not in agreement about the age. Since being uncovered, they have been eroding quickly; even with added protection from the elements. It raises the question as to how could they could have been there for 3.6 million years.
thrufaithalone 4 years ago
According to my information they had until recently been covered with volcanic material.

If Hovind had been a real scientist with actual valid points, stating that might be regarded as some kind of ad hominem or other logical fallacy.
I think it's safer just to point out why Hovind's claims are utter BS.
XGralgrathor 4 years ago
Hi XGraigrathor, you have a good point about the ad hominum thing. The reason I _ad_ed Hovind's _hominum_ was because the particular context---a teacher in a Bible school holding up Hovind as a role model--pointing him to a website of somebody who is, like in jail--is something which parents paying $25k a year for private school would tend to complain about.....seems like the teacher should avoid Hovind if only for ass-covering purposes...
