  • shot at 1:35 is wicked

  • brilliant feel to those scenes

  • Fuck. My computer only supports 720p ¬¬ hahaha

  • This just screams FILM dude. Soon as I full-screened it triggered my brain into "this is a film" mod.

  • What anamorphic lens is this?

  • Great shots of the capital. How do you hack your GH1?

  • I see a bit of jitter I assume thats not on the original footage?

  • Akira, is it possible for you to make a tutorial on getting Anamorphic 1080P with the 7D, without a true adapter? I tried using the crop method, but.... well youtube doesn't want to make it as 720P, so I have to upscale to 2333x1080? Or?

  • This looks beautiful on my 27" iMac.

  • Btw, I've got two questions:

-Is this really true 2.35:1 panoramic? Why the 2388x1080p?

2388 divided by 1080 is 2.21:1, not 2.35:1. Wouldn't 2538x1080p be the correct resolution then? Does the adaptor force you to crop the sides a bit?

-The location's amazing. Where did you go?

  • @darkmusentertainment It is truly 2.35:1. It is 1920x1080 with 1.33 squeeze. Youtube unsqueezes the image at 2388x1080 for its original quality.

Location is the Sacramento capital building.

  • @eyepatchentertainmen Thanks for the info, it does look like 2.35:1 despite the resolution. Will definitely try getting one of those asap!

  • @eyepatchentertainmen

Still confused about what youtube do..

  • About resolution.

  • Beauti-f'ing-ful! Would LOVE to see a next test vid like that with artificial light sources and/or city night shooting (for the lens flares especially).

  • Some of the lens flare are rectangle. Did you used special filters ?

  • i love that lensflare

  • I noticed that some shots have some chromatic aberration, vignette, and soft edges, where do these artifacts come from, in this case?

  • @linkmaster112233 from testing the anamorph beyond its capabilities. :)

  • Stunning!

  • Impressive. I have a question, please. How much of what you're doing with your hacked GH1 is not native in the GH2?

  • @DeShonDixonHD

Go for a 550D it's way too hard to find a hackable GH1 and it can't get the same kind of shallow depth of field that a t2i can, nor the low light capabilities.

  • thanks, beautiful

  • Intense.

  • Awesome vid man. I was waiting for Will Smith to jump out and start killing some aliens.

  • Wow this video is awesome! Which capitol building is this? Is it in Sacramento?

  • nice music

  • That looks amazing, did you do any color correction on it?

  • If I had a steady source of the pre-antihack models I'd be fine, but I'm unsure, even about eBay.

    Hmm...

  • @AETrainingDavid97 Need Panasonic to release 3.4 firmware out in the wild. Then every cam can be hacked.

  • @eyepatchentertainmen That would be excellent. It seems like a great camera for it's price.

  • I Always love your video reviews! I'm looking to get into film making and have been saving for a DSLR camera. So, I'm between this two: CANON 7D or PANASONIC GH1 Hacked (Actually I was already sure about the 7D but by watching this video had to rethink about it) Wich one would you choose for FILMING shorts and low budget movies? Thanks you so much for your help! Take care!

  • it coppie

  • @DeShonDixonHD I like it, though the ISO is not as good vs. other brands, but everything else makes up for that - especially having m4/3s enable more affordable low light lenses like the .95 25mm which makes up for the ISO (but you usually use a flash/strobes anyway in low light so...)

  • @DeShonDixonHD The Mark ii 5d is the only Canon Camera you should get over a GH13 is what I mean...and even that's debatable

  • @psynema Completely agree. Nothing compares to the 5D in low light, but its no match for a gh1 during the day.

  • @eyepatchentertainmen Ditto. I notice ISO 400 and better seems to be the turning point.

  • this is brilliant! incredible quality!

  • Sweet footage!

  • Original quality up! Original scales the 1920x1080 video to 2388x1080 after unsqueezing the image and runs at a higher bitrate than 1080p. The difference is staggering

  • @eyepatchentertainmen

2388? it should be 2560 if the LA7200 has a 1.33 anamorphic squeeze

  • @BenHughesStudios There are tiny black bars encoded in the video, and it is uploaded at 1920x1080 and unsqueezed to original quality

  • @eyepatchentertainment. Thanks for the Vid! Appericate all your videos and all the work you do. I have to make the switch after seening this.. jus remarkable..

  • @DeShonDixonHD it's hard to beat almost full raster 1080p unless you just like the 55OD look and functions even with all it's flaws

  • @DeShonDixonHD Hacked GH1 is the best video dslr out right now. 550D is a great camera, but it certainly wont be as sharp.

  • @eyepatchentertainmen How do you upload a video to get it to do the original quality? Is it because it has a resolution greater than 1920x1080? Great work by the way. This video looks fantastic.

  • @DeShonDixonHD GH13 > Canon's APC-s Lineup.

  • @DeShonDixonHD Ebay has probably the best selection right now.

Also, using an anamorphic adapter gets rid of the crashing card problem. as long as you use a good class 10 card
