love this song. so simple and true. he truly is majestic, it's like every once in a while we need to get to down to the simples like this song. magic. <3
why do acoustic players have to play EVERYTHING in G position? This song is still very easy to play in D without a capo... great job btw love this song.
in my opinion, the G position is actually one of the 2 or 3 keys that sound best on a standard 6 string... the others being C and E. a common misconception is that the G position is the only key these players know (sometimes the case), but a lot of the time it just sounds better and provides more texture to the song to capo and play in G.
Actually he isnt playing in the G position. Look closely and you can tell he is playing in D. You can tell he is playing in D because he plays the B minor chord many times in this song. And B minor is the relative minor for D.
oh duh i guess i wasn't paying attention. i just saw the capo and thought G cuz he plays his D's with the F# on the bottom with his middle finger and it looks weird. i guess he's tuned a half step down. oh and Bm is the relative minor for D...but Bm is also in the key of G....and A...
be a leader not a follower , the impressionable minds of the religiouse community frighten me because they indoctrinate it on the rest of us, do you really need a diety to teach you to be a good human or can u decide for yourself, insert narrow minded excuse here:
well, actually, i believe we do need a diety. how do you expect to get into heaven without God. as far as i'm concerned, we commit sins but if we have no one to repent them to then where does the guilt go? i'm glad that you are on this, although normaly i would be like ," then why the heck are you here?"
you need a bible, a good preaching and homeostasis in all aspects of your life. good luck!
It's not merely about learning how to be a "good human". This is the misconception that many people have of Christianity. Any person, believer or non-believer, can be a "good human". It doesn't take the power of Christ to be kind to others. Plenty of non-Christians have shown us that throughout history. Christianity is about the salvation of the soul that comes not from good deeds, but from the acceptance of the grace and sacrifice of one that is greater than us.
Nobody is saying "follow". Christianity is about taking up leadership and initiative. God has given us free will and minds to think for ourselves. We are encouraged to study the Word and ultimately decide for ourselves. Anyone who tells you otherwise is misleading you. Blind faith in the words of another human being is no faith at all. The only thing a blind follower does is live and reflect the faith of the person he follows. This is not God's will for us.
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." - Romans 12:2
God does not wish for us to conform to worldly patterns (and yes, churches can follow worldly patterns). He wishes for us to break free from the mold and test our own faith. Whether you are a believer or non-believer, open your mind and deepen your resolve in your beliefs...
As for the issue of people trying to indoctrinate others in their beliefs, anyone who truly believes something does that because none of us want to see others going down what we feel to be the wrong path. Christians are always trying to open the eyes of Atheists and Atheists are always trying to open the eyes of Christians. In the end, no matter the amount of pressure one way or the other, you're the one that makes the decision as to what you truly believe. The is free will...
@JinMaikeul True, but in the end one of those two will be correct. If the Atheist is correct, no biggy, we're all good. If the Christian is correct... huge biggy. That's pretty bad news for the world around them which chooses to be Atheist. Free will? Absolutely. Free will doesn't make a person correct, though...
@cplhewett That's a false dichotomy. If you consider all of the other religions and beliefs that could theoretically be "correct", then you realize that it's not so simple as you put it. What if Islam is correct? Both Atheists and Christians would be screwed. What if the correct religion was actually Scientology? All three of those religions would be screwed. So being a Christian isn't necessarily a "safe" choice either from that perspective.
@cplhewett Certainly free will doesn't make a person correct, but nobody said it does either. Life is about choices and you need to look at the options laid out before you and go with what you believe. For many, it's the Christian faith. For others it may be some other religion or no religion at all. We each make our decisions and we each will face whatever consequences may come.
@JinMaikeul It's a person's free will to choose to believe what they believe? That's what you said in an earlier post & even though it is their free will that does not make them correct. The whole "Life is about choice and you need to look at the options..." is what is called relativism. In other words "I do what I want because I feel it's best for my life" when in reality there is one choice out there that is right so what if someone is wrong.
@JinMaikeul If I'm a Christian then according to the very truth of Islam, I am actually following the very same God (Allah) as them (the 'God of Abraham'). So even then I can still be good because of the basis of their beliefs (not radical Islam, mind you). If Scientology is correct & I'm a Christian, again no harm done according to their beliefs because they believe in relativism. But, if I'm either Islam or Scientology & Christianity is correct, then I'm not in good shape.
@JinMaikeul Life is definitely about choices, but according to the choice I have made for being a Biblically based Christian (because unfortunately not all professing Christians base their lives off of the Bible) the Bible is the one true word of God, Christ is the one Son of God, & He is the only way to get to God. If you don't believe that then my first question is: If not to cause a scene & for the mere enjoyment of arguing, why are you on a video chatting with Christians?
@JinMaikeul Honestly, that's all it seems you would be here for - an argument. I'm not here to argue, though. Biblical truth points to what I've said & if you don't believe in the Bible then I'm not going to waste anymore time on a video trying to explain it to someone who uses post-modern ideas to defend all religions when, in reality, one way is correct. My main question is, however, if it is Christianity, how many people out there believing in relativist ideas will be sorely displeased?
