Hey guys i found a really good ebayer, i made sure to check its real by this video (smells almost like vanilla =p). and going into the store and seeing myself what a real one looks like. the lipsticks are roughly $36-40 in Australia so getting online is helpful for me. Her ebay shop is Tanya's Shop. She sells her lipsticks for $21 ea which is excellent, and she has 55 colours. idk her, but my guess is its a mini business because she has had it for over a year, which is impressive for ebay.

@saywink no. like i said on the australian mac website they are 36 each... more in store. you cant buy from the US website if you live outside of USA or canada.... :\ and even if i wanted to, its a $33.50 postage fee, plus you have to sign up to a shipping website that has a US address and its $10 to become a member.

Oh thanks for that! I just bought some Viva Glam Lipstick from eBay and guess what? Yes, I think it's fake. The first thing I noticed is that the taste was awful....a bit like gasoline/petrol and it had a sort of petrol smell to it. The colour looks okay, but I don't think a company like MAC would have that horrible of a taste/smell. Thanks so much for saying it was supposed to smell nice. I am going to send a link the the eBay seller, so she can see your video. xx

@terrilavonne yeah that would be a dead giveaway that it's not real it's supposed to smell like sweet Vanilla kind of. I'm sorry you got fake MAC you can always send it back to her eBay will back you up and if you paid with PayPal it will be refunded to you if you need to open a claim.

You said that if it was manufacured somewhere outside of Toronto then its probably fake... but thats simply not true. MAC Manufactures some of their products in Italy, USA, and even China. Actually I don't believe MAC makes ANY products in Canada itself. At least I have yet to come across "made in canada" on any of my MAC boxes. And I buy all my stuff from the mac store.

I am also a Professional Makeup artist. I personally have found that the real Mac's writing flakes off as well. I have also bought the fake and find it to be just as good as the ral MAC and I am very cautious and keep them separate by marking them as fake. It has become even more difficult as the fake MAC chinese sites are now claiming 100% Authentic.

@NailsByNatalie sometimes it is actually very well pigmented and works good, but the problem is the price and health concerns. If you buy a fake mac lipstick for 10 dollars, you dont know whether it is safe to wear. People can put anything they want in their fakes, which can be a health hazard. better to buy a 14 dollar REAL mac lipstick, because mac is a reliable and well known company and you KNOW that they will not put lead/etc in their products! :)

Hi There! Thanks for the video but I am still very stumped on whether my lipstick is real or fake. I only paid 2.50 for it but it seems very real!! The only thing is that: The sticker on the bottom has the name and the number, but not the finish. It also says it was made in toronto, canada, even though it was shipped from Hong Kong. Also, the smell is nothing like vanilla, and the quality isnt very good. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me, Thankyou!

@PreteenxBeauty if you have another MAC lipstick that is known to be real try the cap test. take the cap off the fake one and put it on the real on and see if it fits just like the original. also look at the sparkle on the packaging. what does the lipstick smell like? is it at least a pretty scent. it sounds like a good fake. i think all the MAC lipsticks will have the finish on the bottom sticker but I could be wrong.

@moonbabe2001 one out of the 3 fakes that i bought online were good it was a creamy solid peachy rose color. very pretty. the others were shimmery, the shimmer in the lipstick was low quality so you could actually feel it on your lips like grit. they were not all over lip colors for sure. i still kept them because they could be good lip highlights in the right place, other than that the product itself was not great.

I have the viva glam gaga i bought it from ebay, it smells like vanilla and the packaging has sparkles. it is numbered c30 and the finish is below the actual name on the circle sticker at bottom. It is labelled canada on the bottom and it kinda just says canada/mgaa from what ive told you do u think its real or fake? thankyou... nice video btw

All real MAC will have a silver sticker saying a number, a finish, and then the name usually, then all the other stuff around it saying it's from Toronto.

@Juiceeyguts you can back to mac lipsticks for sure i think it would be fine as long as you had the sticker on the bottom, that silver sticker it should be fine. but if you go to the MAC counter a lot find the nicest sales person and ask them about it. they should be able to tell you the legit response if you can. i think you can though. it would be interesting to know so if you find out before i do message me back.
