I don't get this at all the choreography and execution looks almost beastly to me and she should be shot for doing a piked full in then a tucked full in , how imaginative !
now that I watch this routine again, I think she was perfectly suited to the new code. She could stick tumbles so easily! What a shame she got injured
You know what's funny, in an interview (that you can find here on YouTube) she said she's happy she only has four diagonals (tumbling passes) as opposed to five.
Before the 2009 Worlds she broke her foot but I haven't heard anything about her since...
she had her achiles tendon ruptured. she is recuperating at the moment. she will do beam at the romanian internationals this wekend but outside the competition. i think they try slowly to bring her back for the worlds in the fall
she was better oh my god i hate this rules of gymnastics look she was better than anyone anyway i sanda you are the best on floor and no one will change that
No! This sport is called ARTISTIC Gymnastics for a reason! I love gymnasts like Shawn Johnson and Beth Tweddle, but I prefer watching gymnasts like Ksenia Semenova, Anna Pavlova, and Nastia Liukin because they have the classic gymnastics and artistry that this sport has been missing since the absurd start values from 5 tumbling passes in zero artistry floor and beam performances with less than 2 seconds of choreography!
An update to the Code of Points in early 2009 created a rule in which a gymnast can no longer have more than 4 tumbling passes; so she can't compete 5 passes anymore.
cool! so it is down to 4 tumbling passes..Passes that should show grace and difficulty..and I hope that the judges will put some weight on the dance moves more!
yes it is cute..I also love the leo of Produnova when she competed at the Universiad Games where she wore the green stripes and then white leo...she looked nice there too! The one where she did a double front vault that she landed cleanly.
i love sandra, she is still my alltime favorite floor worker, she has had so many different tumbling passes that she can pick from and she is just overall consistent and my favoriteeeeee!!!!!! too ad the judges had sticks up their asses... yeah it was short but oh welll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i dnt no wat 2 say..semenova medals bt she didnt..im glad she used this music...but she needs to change heaps in it if she wants to medal!!! where is the third pass she use at the olympics..that was superb..its bad naw!
actually, she's one of the rare gymnasts who has barely changed her routine at all, she's been doing those exact same three passes since 2006. Only last year she added a bwd double twist side pass. I like routines with 3 passes better, but i guess setting the maximum at 4 passes was a good thing in any case.
She lost on more then a technicality. She lost credit on the triple twist and only got credit for a 2.5 which she already had in the routine so she lost .5
A 2-1/2 twist is a 2-1/2 twist. Combo's aren't recognized as single elements in the COP, so the first 2-1/2 was counted as a D, and her triple attempt was downgraded to a 2-1/2, so it was given a 0 (and she had to count an A) and she lost 0.5CR for the dismount.
People, read the description: she got a low score because her last pass was disconsidered. As a consequence, she lost a full point in her difficulty score.
For me the judges were a litlle bit harsh on her. I'd have given credit for her triple.
the judges were on some crack...smh

It's too bad she couldn't pull the triple around, because the rest of the routine was just amazing.

This was fair. She should've done 1 1/2 to full. I'd prefer not gaining 0,10 than to be in risk of loosing one full point.

I don't know why they don't credit her triple! Her triple has always been more or less the same, especially her beam one, and they always credit her.

hello, new code of points... maximum 4 tumbling passes, only top 8 skills count, 5 max must can be acro and 3 min have to be dance elements
lepetitpoulet 2 years ago
ohh i c, so only 4?? but twedle did 3...i thought that was changed..still kinda confused!!
ClauRomanul 2 years ago
The limit is 4, so the gymnast doesn't have to do 4 passes, she can do 3, even 2 if she wants
nikirififo 2 years ago
aha, i c so thats y she changed her routine so much, so no1 is doin more than 4 passes.....interesting..it seems like the old times (2004)
gymfan2005 2 years ago

lost due to a technicality. Other than this, she would have won over Beth.

I'm confused since the first 2 1/2 was in combo shouldn't the last pass counted as a regular 2 1/2 and she just get the start value lowered?
dianajc 2 years ago
A 2-1/2 twist is a 2-1/2 twist. Combo's aren't recognized as single elements in the COP, so the first 2-1/2 was counted as a D, and her triple attempt was downgraded to a 2-1/2, so it was given a 0 (and she had to count an A) and she lost 0.5CR for the dismount.

haha..... so if she did double pike. she would have been won
pong0622 2 years ago
no look at beth's score. she would have had silver
lepetitpoulet 2 years ago
yes... with any other tumbling pass she would have won
mo0rrisz 2 years ago
She would have gotten silver with, say a double tuck/pike finish.
ThePenguin888 2 years ago
but i dont understand why beth tweddle with just 3 tumbling passes won having all the other 7 competitors doing 4 tumbles.. why is that?
mo0rrisz 2 years ago
She has more difficulty packed into 3 passes than most do with four. Comparing Tweddle and Izbasa.
Tweddle = 2.5
A+C+A+A+E (0.2CV)
A+A+F
A+A+D+C (0.2CV)
Izbasa = 2.4
A+A+E
A+A+E
A+A+D+C (0.2CV)
A+A+E

I can't see her last pass.... the idea of taking moving air shots in middle of tumbling passes is awful you cannot appreciate anything!
Did she really did deserve the deduction of downgrading the triple to a 2 1/2?

she should win!!! She was sooo good and she jsut earn 13.900!!!!!That´s so unfair!!!!
