The reason nuro/ neurolinguisic programming has had a bad press is that it's a well documented pseudoscience. Please check it out carefully before involving a NLPer in your teacher training.
I also have quite a few reservations about this video but at least it’s good to see the British Council getting behind nuro-linguistic programming after all the bad press it’s had in recent years. Where did you do your diploma?
Those secondary students behave SO well, the state schools I teach in are NOT normally like that, and it's not That i don't try to engage them! I try to involve them but normally after half/one hour they start misbehaving....so the best teaching technique does not work!
@olavarria73 yup, the classes presented in this video are really disciplined ones. Fe. the kids, I used to work in primary school and the kids were full of beans, they couldn't sit still at all. They got bored after few repeatitions of a word, not like those classes presented here C: Also its not perfect TT I'd never ask my students "do you understand?" -because they would always reply "yes". Asking a question or making them re-phrase is way better.
To find out about John's new teacher training courses and projects, you can contact him here: john@athena-teacher-training.co.uk .... fantastic teacher trainer!
I'm wondering if this technique works well with adult learners.
