It's kind of like BG saw someone doing this... I mean, the way it seems that one set of lyrics takes precedence over the other set at certain parts and vice versa during other parts.
They Harmonize each other! Shizzzznit! Hansi, you slacker! Dead Sound is Fly about a key or two higher. They didn't record the instruments separately. They just edited the Guitar tracks down and Hansi recorded separate lyrics.
He's not a slacker, it was done very much on purpose. They aren't transposed up or down, or they'd be in different keys, and they wouldn't sound well together. They're in the same key, but Dead Sound of Misery is played in a way that creates harmony with Fly while in the same key. Besides, Dead Sound of Misery was a bonus song on the album.
I was joking about that slacker part. A little joke. But no, that's how you do it. You put the song down a couple steps. I didn't mean key. He put it down a few steps.
The first chord is like an orgasm of musical brilliance. Thought I'd say.
And the background would have had to be recorded serperately because the backgrounds in the two songs are different. Very similar, and the same basic structure, but different parts. Plus youll notice the lead guitar uses techniques like pinch harmonics in different places in each song, so they have to be different recordings.
I like fly better, has more energy.

I love that you synced these two! I always wanted to hear what it would sound like <333
I love both songs, I heard Fly first and instantly fell in love. Dead Sound of Misery is also genius; I think they both are equally great!!

The beginning of the song sounds great but then at about 0:15 it starts just being sound noise :S

A work of genius - both the bards and the guy who synched it.
