It's literally a slap in the face of Irv Kershner and Richard Marquand who directed the sequels because its technically THEIR movies, since director is God. The only reason why he can't fuck with Spielberg as much is because Spielberg pretty much owns hollywood.

In 2004, Sebastian Shaw's eyebrows were digitally removed from his face in ROTJ and eyes were also digitally coloured to look like those of Hayden Christensen. Then in the re-release at the end of ROTJ he was replaced by Hayden Christensen. All that is left is for them to digitally replace Shaw's face in that small scene he was in to COMPLETELY wipe out the actor from the films! Thats disrespectful, IMHO

@keerkhor I'll give you Kershner, Empire was very much HIS effort, but Marquand was essentially a co-director to Lucas. If you watch the Retrospective documentary, Lucas had to be on the set essentially every day, and directed a big chunk of the film himself. And Director is not God, the Executive Producer is. And that's him too lol. Though this change is just awful.

In fact the only scenes I remember changed really were the regular emperor used for the hologram scene and an extra scene with that white furry beast showing him eating a piece of meat, which was actually both kinda positive changes.

There is only one true Star Wars, the original trilogy as it was first released (though the special edition version they released with better color and touch ups is also appropriate). Just like there is only the first matrix movie, all the rest don't exist despite what some people might tell you. People tell me we're watching the star wars prequels but all I see is a moving picture explaining how not to make a movie with very little that actually has to do with star wars.

I am fortunate to have a dvd release with the theatrical editions included, I will never buy another star wars release again the original is always best! As for the prequels they were dreadful I don't even own any! George cared more about graphics than a script and character development, it is a shame that he now wants to change 4,5 and 6 to fit the prequels, in spite of the fact he said he wouldn't!
