  • Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! You are great!!! Thanks for your fabulous playing!!!

  • is this the same cast from the first production that you guys did?

  • A few are from the first cast.

  • you can see my video soon! opening show tonight, and i can promise it's better than this :)

  • What's with the people up in the booth or whatever? Is that Fulton or something? And who are the other people?

  • This just seems bland

  • is this the stage tour?

  • is far more important than keeping all the moves from the movies in the play. The audience will remember the orignial key moves (clock movement in what times is it, the footwork in work this out etc) and commend the extra moves that were put in that show creativity. I'm not saying this wasn't good, cuz it was, but it was sad to not see any originality.

  • Seriously?? This is the best performance on Youtube. Stop giving them crap about "originality". My theatre is doing this show and we're doing a lot of the same dances sand similar costumes. People come to SEE THE MOVIE LIVE! So stop with the "originality" crap and give them credit. It looks amazing! Besides. You can't stop them from doing what they want. So shut up!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS FABULOUS! YOU GUYS ARE VERY TALENTED! :)

  • OH SHUT UP!

In order for a theatre to get the rights for this show, they have to sign and agree to certain rules in order to put on the performance. And, for most of the choreography disney says that it needs to be the same. So it's not that they are being "unoriginal" they have to follow Disney's contract. They can get sued if anything is different from what the contract says. And anyway, no matter how"unoriginal" they are, this is by far the best performance of HSM2 i have ever seen.

  • I honestly think that it should have been different from the movie. I think it was completely unoriginal (choreography and costuming) I understand that the little kids like the movies and may expect to see just that, but it doesn't hurt to put in a little originality into the dances. And no, it's not the choreographers being wanna bes and show offs. It's called being ORIGINAL! Our choreographer for this show is doing an amazing job keeping the key moves that people recognize into the show, which

  • and the dances they saw their favorite stars do. So anyone out there who thinks that this is cheap should remember that your dances were not in the movie you didn't choreograph it, therefor lets let the professionals do what they do best and stick to people who know what they're doing and do the dances from the movie. Peace out

  • there are so many things that you need to understand about the comments that you just left. not ALL choreographers are "a bunch of poser wannabes who couldn't hack it on Broadway or professionally" some don't even try to go into that stuff. you need to understand that for ACTORS it is NOT good to watch the movie and follow the character because that doesn't let expand their ability to create their own person on stage that, who knows, could possibly capture the audience more than the characters

  • a bunch of poser wannabes who couldn't hack it on Broadway or professionally so they're trying to show their own talent and then they botch it up and disappoint everyone. I personally liked this and I like the dancing. You all are very talented and I hope that people who do this stick with the original dances and characters because when CHILDREN come to see this thats what they expect. Its like taking a mini trip to Disney for them. They want to see the characters they fell in love with--

  • in the movie. original choreography is boring and very disappointing, in some cases, when seen on stage. there are more people who would rather see NEW choreography rather than original. it must be done. and as a director you have your way of seeing things and others have theirs. but being a DIRECTOR you SHOULD know that different interpretations of these shows are very good. watch your comments please and don't be rude. :)

  • I'm personally directing this show this summer with a bunch of 6th-12th graders. I personally find it disappointing when I go into a musical that was a movie and see everything is different. I want to see the choreography live and I want to see the movie. While I understand that some prefer to see something new. I do not. I think that choreographers who try to make up their own dances to something that has such original dance moves that tell the story of the song beautifully already are--

  • This seems slowed down compared to the one we did.

  • Ignore the people who are saying how they don't like how it is so much like the movie; I mean, honestly, it is. However, what do people go and see the High School Musicals for? To see the movie live. I loved it.

  • Very wise comment!

  • The stage musical is different from the movie - there are new songs, new arrangements, etc... The cast is different, the voices are different, etc... so, why try to make it exactly like the movie? The choreography is completely unoriginal, as is the costuming.

  • honestly. i think east light sucked! bet on it was so weeeeirrd! and boring. and the entire set were wall with tile on them. it looked like the inside of a computer. this was 10000 times better than eastlight!!! and this troy has a better voice!

  • they did a great job. I'm going to be in this show this summer. Before this I couldn't really imagine it on stage.

  • i liked it. i just didnt like how you guys tried to make it so much like the movie, costumes and coreography etc. but other than that it looked like a lot of fun. i did hsm at my community theatre and played jason. they hired proffessional actors from new york to play the main leads so i was glad i got a chance to work with them. they're gonna do hsm2 there too but i wont be there to do it :/

    good job though :)

  • Unfortunately, I only got to see the Junior Cast but the videos are AMAZING. I know a good deal of cast members in both casts. I know how hard you guys worked and the outcome was amazing! I wish I could have auditioned and participated but I was committed to prior engagements. Keep it up, everyone. :]

  • there kind of slow

  • the choreography is awesome!! everyone is very good! and i must say you guys do a good job at keeping your voices. i did hsm1 and playing chad. i just remember how hard it was to keep your voice till the end cause of all the high singing. so good job guys!

  • My theater group is doing hsm2 on stage this summer...i'm sooo happy...we did hsm on stage last summer.

  • yah, im directing hsm2 this summer, and ive been in a professional production of hsm1 playing ryan and this is very good for community theatre. also when i direct it i want to use dances and costumes from the movie as well. Its not like "rent" that was a musical THEN a movie, more like the wizard of oz that was a movie THEN a musical. As the wizard of oz there are just things you dont mess with. can you imagine dorothy in a yellow polka dot dress chachaing down the yellow brick road? ...lol

  • Ok..sorry guys but this wasn't very good...costumes were exactly the same, along with the dance moves..you didn't take the show in your own direction...we were one of the other productions and I personally think our show was ten times better than this..but maybe thats just me being biased...

  • we wanted the costumes to be the same so that the characters would be recognizable.

  • I personally witnessed the brillance that was Easlight Theatre's HSM2 and while their costumes or choreography were not identical to the movie, every single character was VERY recognizable.

Your set is amazing...I will give you that...but only that.

  • I'm sure your show was good. Maybe you could post some of the same videos so that others could compare and comment.I haven't seen any clips of your Ryan or Sharpay.

  • Thank you so much for your compliment on the Eastlight production, I played Mr. Fulton

  • Ahhh haha I was in this!

  • Wonderful job! The choreography is great and you guys look like professionals! Excellent job! It looks like you are having a blast!
