  • in the live concerts, Tony do B5 for to C#5 for the intro. I think. But your version pretty well.

  • and.... the rest?

  • great riff

  • Wow he really nailed the guitar tone!

  • awesome sound coming from that beast!!!

  • of course it doesnt play in standard toni iomy has those finger caps so he had to make his strings looser

  • Someone told me this song was in standard, But it dosent play right in that tuning at all.. #C is deffinently the right way.

  • OMG that guy is FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!

  • Thankx for uploading. This will help me out, I hope!

  • is this 1/2 a step down?

  • It's in C#...

  • keep playing in 1/2 step down and drop d wtf it sounds right tabs say 1/2 step down was up people????????

  • i can't figure out if he is playing open A string and D string at the start

  • Yes he is, check out the tab at the bottom. :)

  • it exactly sounds like it. great job!

  • lol the sound is from the real song -.- not him playing

  • Wrong! He IS playing. The entire track was recorded at a studio in Milwaukee, WI, by a session band including Doug, the guitarist in the video. They specialize in copping tones from albums for playalong books and DVDs. They're real pros!

  • This is strange. I have seen this played two ways. I have seen Tony play this live and he does not play it open 5th and 4th hammered to the C# on the 7th fret, nor just sliding the B up to C#. It's a hybrid. It's open-hammer the first time, then B chord slide up to C# the second time. After I saw this I went back and listened to the album and sure enough, you can hear the difference.

That being said, the tone Doug got sounds fantastic.

  • rep Milwaukee man this a great song

  • is this song in c#?

  • @BrynjulfsenInc Sabbath was always tuned down to C#

  • @skaterkid998 They actually didn't start that until Master of Reality, so Black Sabbath and Paranoid were in E.

  • The electric has six strings and the bass has 4

Great guitar lesson on how to play Black Sabbath!

  • Can someone teach me the difference between a eletric guitar and a bass?

  • Bass has four thick strings.

and guitar has 6 thin strings.
