Im guessing the link to the lead sheet you made is in a very obvious place but I still can't find it =P. Can you provide/point out where the link to the arrangement is? Thanks.
great video. At the end of the song, just before you hit the final note, you play a chord that seems like a B dim7 (not sure). How would you name that chord? It certainly doesn't look or sound like an F Maj7(+11) as written in your lead sheet. How do you come up with this "filler" chord and know it is appropriate (besides the fact that it sounds good. I'm looking for a theory-based explanation). Is it b/c F and B are tritones?
@underArm0ur Is it that high chord immediately before the final note? If so, the left hand is playing (from bottom to top) B,D,E,A and the right hand E,G,C,E. Although there is no F it is an F chord because the f chord played below it is still ringing and both chords are in the same bar. The A,C,E,G make up the Fmajor9, The B is the #11 for that lydian sound, and the D is the 6 (or 13) and adds colour because it's part of the F Major or F Major Lydian scale. Hope this helps. Cheers.
@Rostro27 Hi. I've been rebuilding my site and didn't realise the link was missing. It's back up now. davespicermusic dotcom (forward slash) SilentNight dot pdf
@TaeH82 davespicermusic dotcom (forward slash) SilentNight dot pdf
It's case sensitive too. Sorry to be so cryptic. You tube blocks addresses even when your trying to give something good away for free. :) good luck. Let me know how you go.
@gman4674 Thanks. I haven't transcribed it note for note, but I've written it down as a lead sheet. (melody and chords). The chords are very specific so it's got the exact alterations I played. You're welcome to download it for free.
I think it would sound a lot better if you made the melody a bit louder and the harmony a bit softer, so the piece isn't too far off from the original.
ok dave, i listened ur other music also. And I likedwhat .
I will try to do this piece for You. I'm 23-year old pianoplayer from finland. But tbh, i will spiced it up little bit by some bluesy stuff.. :D I'll upload it after i've got my christmas gift, ( vidcam) :P But all good to you in future.
This is case sensitive. In the address bar go to davespicermusic and add /SilentNight with .pdf at the end. Sorry to be so vague... I can't publish the actual address in a text comment.

hay dave.
Be careful not to overdo your jazz improv for silent night - it only masks the song until it no longer becomes recognisable
