and no it does not have sync button but the Virtual DJ software it comes with does.

Whats the advantage of the Hercules RMX over the BCD3000. Can someone go a little beyond just "so-so is a joke" like an actual reason behind your analysis please?

I've used both and I can say the RMX feels like a real piece of kit, it's metal instead of plastic for the casing. Runs completely off of USB so you don't need to plug it into a power strip, I personally like the audio better out of the unit (I use ASIO4ALL as the driver though), it comes with a limited version of Virtual DJ which is okay if you're not doing any video work, you can scroll through playlists without leaving the unit, no need to go to the laptop then back to your controller.

Yeah I actually decided to go with the hercules steel and a external card. The steel has led lights, cool looking black panels and is cheap. I'm gonna be running it with traktor pro and a macbook. The controller is actually the last piece i need. thx!

Nice choice, yeah if the controller is the only thing you're looking for then the Steel will be a wiser investment, have fun with it - try not to stay up late at night contemplating the best way to map the controller functions though, definitely not good for your health...not that I'm speaking from experience or anything lol

I just purchased a new Hercules RMX dj controller and installed the driver + software. When I tried it out, the software started stumbling and didn't run solid. Is my laptop the problem? I have an ASUS intel core 2 duo, 2 GHz, 2G Ram, 160 Memory, with Microsoft Windows XP Professional version 2002 service pack 2.

Is that good enough for everything to run? If yes, then what might be the problem? The direct X version 9 is also installed.

Im sure you have worked it out by now but incase anyone else has the same problem.

You need to configure in VDJ your sound settings for it to use your PC soundcard, if you change it to 4-sound card, should sort it out ;)

La Control RMX dispose d'une carte son intégrée et d'entrées/sorties audio ainsi que de connecteurs pour casque et micro.

La Control Steel, de son côté, n'a pas de carte son ni de raccordements autre que l'USB: il faut utiliser la carte son et la connectique du PC.

La RMX est donc autonome, en quelque sorte, alors que la Steel nécessite d'avoir du matos "informatique" à côté.

It uses DJ Console Rmx integrated sound card. The integrated sound cards integrates -10dBu outputs (in RCA format) to export the sound on an external mixer, and +4dBu outputs (in jack 1/4" format) to plug the DJ Console Rmx to a public address amplifier and mix in a club. It is good to mix in clubs !
