The sound of a v-twin is so out of place and strange on a superbike, the sound doesn't go with the look of the bike or it's speed.

there is some truth in that. I've always fancied and driven twins on tracks, but a 4 in line reflects the speed so much better. On the other hand, even if my zx10-R was the best, it doesn't compete diff Ducs in sensation and driving pleasure

I completely disagree. V Twin noise has a big appeal. I4 Scraming on the high revs is cool, but i find the V twin rumble more masculin and agressive. That's why i chose a VTR Firestrom with Acrapovic exhaust. I'm posting some vids soon.

In heads up comparison tests on the same track by the same riders, the Honda CBR1000 and Suzuki GSXR1000 are faster than the Ducati 1098/S Superbike. Despite the fact the 1098 has an awesome motor and the bike looks beautiful.

Ducati deleted the adjustable steering head on the 1098s to help lower the cost and fixed the steering head angle at the longer, more stable extended 27.5 degree setting and the bike just does not turn/handle as well.

They must have had their reasons for doing that. Reviews from each publications will be different because judging a product and comparing different product requires a human mind, and human minds are always subjective. But whatever the outcome, all reviews should be weighed and respected when considering a bike for yourself because those people do this as a profession.

Just because you don't agree with one review, it doesn't mean it's a bad one. You wouldn't be able to walk into MCN HQ and get a job, I guarantee it. So in the meanwhile respect their professional opinions.

Review from MCN Australia - "Ducati's win for 2007 International Bike of the year was overwhelming, with the 22 points awarded it being more than twice its nearest rival". And I could go on.

Fine, I do agree with you that not everything pubs say is trustworthy. But when you provide evidence of the 1098 being better, you have to find an external source rather than quoting from a source that clearly (and subjectively) liked the 1098 better. That's like saying, "I think bananas are better because the guy who likes bananas said it is better than the other fruits". lol dumb example but i hope you get my drift.

The clicking you hear is the dry clutch and yes it's typically a Ducati Superbike thing

This beautiful sound is the dry clutch. The dry clutch is used in all Moto GP bikes, but only ducati use this clutch for all bikes.
