Hey man i have the same sled and it has some serious power, i just put a brand new 1.25 track on it hooks up really good. i have played around with the jets and needles to make it more snappy but for some reason it has a bit of a secondary clutch bog. when i hit deep powder it tends to bog a bit. When i bought it it had a clutch kit in it already i was wondering if you had the same problem and if i should put the clutch back to stock?

I just came out driving my dads 1996 Formula 3, and I really laugh when I saw that fight here. I have never ride F7, but Formula is VERY fast on the ice. It´s also very heavy, and little bit hard to drive, but it´s still fast.
wow i had a 96 formula 3 600 and i couldnt beat an f7. mine was pretty much stock though. just replaced the stock air box with kick ass filters. how is yours so quick??
your all dumb, i own a 96 fIII and it will walk all over buddies rmk 800, buddies m7 and m8, my fIII is clutched and piped its a 136 LT 1.5" camoplast track. Only time i lose is when we all get into the really deep power, on hard pack or even a foot of powder my FIII kicks ass!

Ya they are a good straight line sled, mine had triple pipes,race can(which was louder than hell) and 144 studs which made it hook up like a mother f'er, she would pull the skis for 500 ft easily

that's what i had..the '96..this was back in 2000...quite some time ago. I wrecked it..long story. As far as ditch banging and boondocking...I'll give you that, the formula 3 was a heavy sled. I loved it in the trail, scary on the lake...had the head shaved, triple straight piped, no can, open air box, studded...I bought it like that...anway...in my experience, the best boondocking sled I've ridden is a long track 780 mach from the same era, best ditchbanger in my experience was my 97 xcr 440

I know it right. a good friend of mine had a MXZ 670 H.O. for years. He shaved the head on it and the sled would walk all over ZRT's And ANY Thnderchicken. He pissed so many guys off with that thing it was hilarious.
The funniest memory I have was watching a guy that he had just smoked on a 1000 TC hop on his sled and then pinch the throttle and fly off the back of the sled. I think at that point that guy wanted to crawl into a cave and disappear!

Unfortunately this is real life where many people modify their sleds. That being said, go take an F7 and a F3 700, pipe/stud/clutch them both and run them on the lake and let me know how things work out for the F7. Twins are mid-range, Triples are top end. This isn't a new concept.
