No, "scriptures" are not foolish to me, but i don't think people know where it came from and what it means. The bible is a document compiled by many people over many of years (many many) and what they put down and why is important to understand. Believing what the bible says as straight fact is what i think is foolish. We could look at genisis and see that it is just multiple accounts of different egyptian and mesopotatmian creation myths. It's interesting that people don't know that.
