It's easier to type in pinyin and the problem is I do not have Chinese typing keyboard. I think lots of people are using pinyin now adays for internet communications.

But you are right, pinyin is easier to do on Western PCs/mobile devices. However, there are software out there that will convert pinyin to Chinese simplified script as you type.

Any window operation from XP up would have Chinese in there. You type a word "WO" and will appeared “我" for you to choose.
