Python doesn't include any GUI toolkits. There are several third party toolkits though. wxWidgets is one of them I think. In my project, my GUI system is from scratch, rendered using OpenGL.
I've deleted all the comments bitching about my pronunciation of GUI. See the Wikipedia article entitled "Graphical user interface" if you have any further doubts. It clearly shows the pronunciation to be "gooey". Don't bother posting further arguments here, as I'll just delete them.
I've been following your video series for all the way, and I'm got to say I'm quite impressed. Will this be out for download when your done, or is it personal? I now would like to learn python, it looks like a very flexible language. Anyway, keep up the good work, I look forward to more of these videos.
My plan at the moment is to develop at least one game using the engine, and then release the engine as open source. I'd like it to be something that a community could be developed around, with other programmers contributing features and fixes. That's a bit into the future though. Let me get this thing done and we'll see how things go from there.
