  • @ORTmusic Haha, very funny, go advertise your stuff where it won't make you look like a dipshit.

  • Ugghh repressed childhood memories flooding back...

  • best song in the game I find...

  • Those were the days...

  • This track is awesome. But I found it rather odd to find it in the "Mix for David Wise." Because one of the other musicians to work on DKC, Evelynn Fischer, was the composer of this track.

  • such a fantastic track...

  • @cckeller16 : Agreed, SNES, N64 and PS1 ftw.

  • Ah, brings back old memories. :-)

  • hfdsjkh fjhafj sahfjsahj fsal safyuaisyuasiof yiaousy fouiasy dfuydaos fouda yuscysaucydsuucaydui ycusadycu dsau cyusai cyu ui sdycu icyasiuocyduisayc udasicusaycuiay cusaiyudyuisa yuc yasu cyausi yuidacy aiou aos ycouias ycuy dasuio ycuasiy csuayacuasycuiyasd uyads uasdycduasocyoiasd ycuioasyuioa yuiyer8u7reqyrqwuiryq8erwq7r90870734 80178947897219087419278937897s8a7fdsaf8dasf7das908f7d9s8a f8dsa7f89das7f89das789das7 = No words to describe this theme.

  • i ♥ this theme song

  • One of the most beautiful themes in DKC... could it really be that there is no DKC-Returns version of it?

  • fuck this level. it's too damn hard to speed run

  • @Dsupreme1 because you´re mentally forced to listen to the theme? :D

  • @TheSsbcandidates lol where are you going with that comment

  • This song... only present at one level... displays some kind of innocence. An innocence now lost,

  • if I were to give "adventure" a sound, or a song, this would be it.

  • Being a 14 year old right now, I still miss the days when I used to play my SNES and N64 games. Thank god I still got them along with my Dreamcast. I also miss the good ol RARE before Microsoft bought RARE and now they are making these Kinect games, its like ya know, who cares about Kinect, give us freaking Goldeneye on XBLA, and I don't care if Nintendo and Activision hold the rights to it!!! RARE's days in the 90's were magical, but they ain't the same anymore :/

  • @Y0mAMa5957 well.. i understand how you feel .. iam 16 now and thinking already like : HOLY SHIT is already so much time gone since i played this? :/ well to kinect : sadly such crap attracts the mass.. its the same like nintendo wii (most buyed console at the moment) real gamers are getting less and less nowadays but homever if you want we can play some dkc online on pc : P

  • @Valnar22 Yeah! Like, wouldn't it be great if someone could continue the SNES series games? I wonder if they still make SNES games. As far into Donkey Kong as I know, there's up to Donkey Kong Country 4. Maybe more.

  • @trailboss95 still make snes games? well maybe some pirated ones / hombrew games but real snes games? nah ..

  • I miss you Rare from your glory days when you were part of Nintendo. Every since you have been owned by Microsoft you have become crappy.

  • @man316420 They're not crappy. They just don't do ANYTHING. (not the best purchase ever)

  • I still can't believe they only used this song in 1 single level...

But that level was fucking awesome, especially the background

  • @lolwut90123

that level was a nightmare to beat. I found the ice Tree Top Town level to be easier.

  • My friend has an Iphone4 and his text ringtone sounds just like the twinkles that you hear at the beginning. DKC: I SHALL NEVER FORGET!

  • yeah, i was looking for this song!

  • I remember playin this so much that I eventually got so bored of it that I sold it to my neighbour. A week later I realised my mistake and took it back for double the price I sold it for cos this game was quite "RARE"!

  • This takes me back to 1995 when I was playing this game constantly!

  • wtf is a hotdog Ariel?

  • I have wonder memories of this! Saltine crackers and iced diet coke! Still play it to this day comfort! :-) thanks for posting!... Now on to Ocarina of Time music!!!

  • @theartistsvlog WONDERFUL, I mean...0_o

  • on AVGN always put this soundtrack i think it is beaty and for xmas i love the ice c=

  • I'll never forget the awesomeness of this game, I'd spend countless hours playing and replaying it.. ♥

  • NOTHING WILL BEAT THAT GAME

  • This song has been stuck in my head for about 5 months... I haven't played the game in over a year or 2... Funny that this one song stuck. I am so glad I finally figured it out because I thought it was in DKC1 but my buddy kept telling me it was in 2... And sadly, I have no time to play anymore... I get about an hour or 2 per week to play games and its usually just something simple so I can come back and not have to remember shit anymore... Being an adult sucks kids..

  • DAMNIT I WAS BORN TO FREAKIN LATE

  • they should just resell Super nintendo, dont change anything, just make more

  • @Watsonn94 or keep it safe so you can still enjoy it dayly like me ;)

  • excuse me I do believe you stole my name

  • My mate lost a game of sf2, an has to down a drink, So he looked this song up to drink it LOL!

  • im gona listen to this when im walking to school you wanna know why??? COUSE ITS SNOW EVERYWHERE!!!!!

  • this is one of the tunes that eveline fisher composed actually :)

  • @shairaptor and she did a damn good job on it, if games nowadays were this beautifull though:/

  • @AAPNL12 right! you can dump ps3 and xbox360 altogether. Wii and DS are the consoles to go for. Nintendo still does it right. But nothing beats Donkey Kong Country :)

  • @shairaptor were not twelve years old any more im a Mature person and like playing M rated games but this is good child hood memories ;)

  • Wow... I hummed to this and it snowed......... It's a masterpiece

  • Hahaha, I remember that once I asked my mom: "mom, when you were a teenager, did you play SNES or arcade games?" and she was like: "yeah, I played Pac-man all the time at the arcade", and I asked: "so did you play that game of a guy climbing ladders while a gorilla threw barrels at him?", she went: "oh yeah, it was pretty fun!", Then I said: "well, those two guys were Mario and DK". I remember her face to be epic XD. I think the gamer DNA I got was from her.

  • The biggest problem with this song is that it's only in one level

  • i. hated. this level. lmaooo, great song tho!

  • 15 or some odd years later and nothing has topped snes games for me. nostalgia maybe.. but you cant deny they dont make em like they used to. we grew up listening to this, now they grow up listening to nerd ragin on the xbox... cheers to getting it : )

  • The best music on the SNES was featured in this game ... the regular winter music and underwater music was more memorable to me, but still... beautiful stuff.

  • Such a nice Song and a great game!

  • They just don't make games or music like this anymore.

  • Thumbs up if you used to put this level on pause just to listen to the music...

  • @James7899 always! Just to relax the best

  • I'm glad I grew up with games like DK Country. So much more interesting than the crap that comes out nowerdays.

  • still play this game more then my xbox 360 :)

  • This along with fear factory, both make my mind melt.

  • the muisic added so much to this game

  • I was raised in the gamecube era but im glad ive gone and played all the good old games as they are much more memorable and nostalgic than anything today

  • I wonder why there weren't any more ice levels.

  • Whoa... This makes me feel like dancing around a Christmas Tree at 11:00 PM

    FREAKING EPIC MAN

  • The Beginning Part Is Awesome

This Was The Only One Level!

  • This music is so beautiful!

  • This music is so beautiful!

  • DKC was my favorite series of all time due to 3 things: 1) some of the best music ever in a video game, 2) some of the best graphics in a video game (relative for its time, but still holds up today), and 3) some of the best gameplay ever in a video game. Long live DK!!!!

  • @uglifroot DKC2 was its equal IMO

  • this game raised me better than my parents did... (y)

  • @Makotsun3

I agree with you on that point. Add that the D-Pad was a bit broken, and you got an even more frustrated kid :(

  • The DKC trilogy on SNES have 3 of the best soundtracks of all time. Ice Cave Chant, Fear Factory, Stickerbrush Symphony, Forest Interlude, Cascade Capers, Nuts & Bolts...

So many songs, and they are all so amazing. I listen to them all the time, and they never get old.

I'm not one for rap, rock, hip-hop, techno, you name it... And thats because I grew up with this stuff instead. And I am damn grateful. How I could I be without such amazing music?

Thanks, SNES. You've done great things. :)

  • @Dilbez You forgot Hot-Head Bop

  • this music always reminded me of being in a hot bubble bath...

  • Rare are champions of video game music.

  • @hecklovetch It's a close one between Rare, Capcom, and Sega's DC days.

  • @kcesar68 and don't forget old school Square and pretty much any of nintendo's in house titles :P.

  • wow this song in my opinion is very happy sounding its awesome

  • This is my all time favourite song in DKC! It's so cool!

  • My mom has absolutely no interest in my video games but she said that she remembers me playing this and that she always loved Donkey Kong music. Can you blame her?

  • That's actually very interesting.

  • @zeldafreak701 That is awesome, just awesome, even if your comment is old, it shows how good this game was entirely, I still listen to the soundtrack while i'm working :)

  • @zeldafreak701

Thats awesome, whenever I played, my mom would ask me to play the water level in the first game, just to hear the music. Aquatic Ambiance.

  • @ShaunSeanProductions - Yeah, I remember when I was little, sometimes my parents would just drift into the room while I was playing just to hear the music....nowadays everything is so overproduced that it lacks the simple appeal....

  • @zeldafreak701 Hahah dude, my mom also is like that about videogames, but I get surprised from time to time when I hear her saying some things like : "hey isn't that Link from that TLOZ game?" or "you must have taken that liking of games from me, I used to blast the arcade games when I was your age".

  • @zeldafreak701 Not for one moment!

  • @zeldafreak701

I grew up playing Super Mario Brothers on the NES

In a similar vein.......My mother doesn't know what a Triforce is, she has no clue what BFG means, she's never heard of Chaos Emeralds, She doesn't know what Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A select start does......

but from years of hearing it in the background, I KNOW she can recognize the theme from Super Mario Brothers in a heartbeat

  • @zeldafreak701 Nope :)

  • @zeldafreak701 Hahah that's funny. I actually am a gamer, but the thing is I don't really recall if I ever played VG at a young age, so one day I asked my mom since my dad has an afwull memory. She said: You used to play with your cousins and uncle with that Super Nintendo they had, you always were going on about Donkey Kong and Mario.

Guess my heart was even more powerful than my mind in this case.

  • @zeldafreak701 I certainty can't

My parents sometimes stop while walking by to listen

  • oh my days i was young when this came out all those memorys with the fam playin this i respect everyone who has gone on this ;) =]

  • What else would you expect from someone like David Wise? probably if not the best video game music composer ever. RIP rare

  • This song is amazing! When this song came up when I was playing that one level, I loved it so much. I love the crystal-like melody :D I'm so glad I still have DKC and a SNES so I can play it all the time!

  • This is a genius-made piece, i love it!

  • i can´t explain how epic this song is...

    masterpiece

  • This stage used to mesmerize me, all the shimmering crystals and endless ice... Come to think of it, it still does.

  • This was hands down my favorite level, regardless of how difficult it was. xD

  • Its a shame that every time I listen to this level, it takes me back to always LOSING this level....instead of beating it. LOL

  • Lawlz, just makes me wish I was David Wise! xD Pure genious!!!!

  • Actually this was one of the few dkc songs not written by wise.... it was Eveline Novakovic

  • VC FTW!

  • this gives me good luck :)

  • waking up on Christmas Morning!

  • I thought I was the only one!

  • @mopbrothers SOB You just put the perfect scene in my head for this song hahaha, nice!

  • FLAWLESS FUN!!!

  • There really should have been more of these levels in the game. Every time I beat the level, I look back and think "Damn, it already over. Oh well, I come by it the next playthrough..."

I love Slip Slide Ride, it is by far my favorite level in DKC.

  • This level was a pain for me, because my D-Pad was a lil' broken, so I couldn't really managed to jump the 2 last ropes of the level.

But one day, I managed to beat it, then saved the game, I was freakin' happy 8D

  • I am SOOO downloading this game from the V.C.

  • Just pure memories...amazing ones aswell...when nothing mattered at all...just me and my SNES on cold winter nights...not a worry in the world...miss those days

  • spot on.

  • the DKC games had the greatest soundtrack in gaming history by miles

  • ptn sa rappel des souvenir set musique :) merci

  • I just hooked up my computer to a HUGE HDTV and played this game. Whoa.

  • I love the intro :)...as soon as the harps come in I'm TOTALLY overcome by dancing a little in my chair. :)

  • sweet man. Some friends of mine just got a SNES for college with DKC, I'm going over everyday!

  • the ice places were the hardest lvls i remember

  • i like song

  • ahh memories of a simpler time :)

  • I never thought I would be saying this at the age of 19, but yes, those were the days.

  • Amen, brother. I'm as old as you and I still say it.

  • When I [played at my young days I never thought that this would plasy such a big role now, at the age of 15. I hope It'll still haunt me at 19 :P

  • wow sorry about the bad typing there! Well I hope I atleast got the message across :P

  • I agree.

  • I couldnt agree more. ^_^

  • perfect

  • Same Here

  • Why not?

  • 1 of the most important things in this game was the music

  • @BlizzardActivision And bananas...lol

  • Damn those slippy ropes with those spiked wasps at the top and bottom of them!!!

    The musics fab though!!

  • This song makes me so happy :) If you listen to it and block out everything else for a miniute, you'll notice how good things used to be, and maybe still are. GOOD MEMORIES!

  • damn those zingers on this level! Always where you dont want them to be, Especially on the up and down ropes.

  • the first stage of the snow world is so fucking hard

  • Yeah, but there are some hidden barrels that shoot you like almost to the end of the level.

  • yea! i hated the snow levels.

  • thanx for the memories man

  • wow iv realized it but life now was absolutely nothing compared to back then. how does life keep gettiing worse (in overall) doesnt make sense

  • Devolution.

  • The more you grow up, the more responsibilities you get, and the more you realize the world is a shit place.

  • not if u smoke lots of weed on this theme :d

  • He's right, don't bash him because he's happy.

  • Kinda true

  • Could I put your comment as a signature?

  • this is my favourite

this cd came with my snes

but i dont have it now:(

  • Dam i used to love playing thi level!! These were the good ol days lol......

  • just listen to this while skiing! Amazing!

  • I don't care, this song just makes me love life. hahaha.

  • trust me.

music like this and stickerbrush symphony is awesome music when youre learning stuff like , homework :P

    so relaxed and enjoyeble

  • I like this music completely unlike the music in the n64 version because this is just truly relaxing, while the n64 music is unpleasantly sentimental

  • im making this on mario paint!!!!

    ^_^

  • I was raised SNES but the newer gamers are raised PS3 and Wii and 360 we have to introduce the youngsters to the good ole days of gaming, so whos with me!

  • It'd be easier to kill 'em all

  • I'll drink to that.

  • I am!

  • my kids will be raised playing these games, thats for sure

  • MEEEEEEEEEEE

  • WEVE ALL BECOME CRANKY KONG

  • Dear God he's right! D:

  • HAHA

Such a profound statement. How do you have so much insight??

  • @ZEROEVILDARKCOOL

We should all be proud we belong to the Cranky Kong master race.

  • Comment removed

  • @hostel969: I am kind of with you. But you should have said "We have to introduce the youngsters to REAL gaming". xD

  • @hostel969 I agree...it is important for newer gamers to learn about the older systems.

  • @hostel969 I disagree I believe that as a child we we're susceptible to the magic of our imagination and the games we played as a child are unlike anything else, "youngsters" of today will have a negative effect on our game because the way gaming is in their minds is corrupt, gaming in their minds is FPS and great graphics mixed in with some amazing online support.

  • @hostel969 I had been playing the N64 since 2000 (stopped in 2004), so I had been raised on the good old days of gaming (from the 80's). Especially as I had played the NES back in 2004.

  • 'brap' a gun sound. means ' sick' a posotive way to show excitement for something. peace and love dk gamers. agree with plorenz, i used to kinda say that about something that my bro grew up on, which was a load of shit cause i wasnt born when he was playin it hahaha. however dk i know :)

  • This track and "Aquatic Ambience" are the best from D.K.

  • No truer words spoken.

  • trustttttttt. you donnnt undertsand, i would do anything to go back to them days. just donkey kong soon as u get home from school. braaaaap.

  • yea

  • brap?

  • Where did all those years go to when i was still playing this as a little boy... I miss these kind off games, to bad people dont want to think about the fun, all most want these days, is fullHD, surroundsound 5.1 blablabla... I want that the industry went back to its basics =(

  • They just don't have music like this in games anymore.

  • I think its because video game makers are too worried about their pocketbooks and profits rather than making quality games. I think they should allow kids between the ages 13 to 17 give ideas and input on games.
