I dont know much about Kung-Fu (except to watch it) but this Wilson Wu guy's name gets thrown around a bit, is he like the next Bruce Lee or something?
oh you misunderstand me i was only stating that there was 102 forms i didnt say you have to master them to be good the forms are only to broaden you arsenal of kung fu and build your imagination when fighting
Actually there is no need to learn the 102 forms. You only need to master the principles, techniques, and abilities and the understand the core of the style. You just need to pick up the important forms and practice them. The forms are just the different combos of the different techniques.
Please tell me what are the key forms, the ones you MUST know.I've practiced Eagle Claw and it has a lot of sets but you don't have to learn all of them to be considered a sifu.
Sorry, I don't practice Eagle Claw, so I don't know the key forms in that style. but i believe how to learn the froms is much important than how many you learn the forms. practicing forms is just part of the bridge to master kungfu.
@harkying99 i'm certainly not an expert but in my opinion the essential forms of Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu are: BungBu, LanJie, BaZhou, ZhaiYao. hope this helps :)
Wow. I really like this. I've been learning from a book. It's really difficult, but I see that I'm on the right track, definitely. The one I have is a slightly different interpretation. Good stuff, though. :D
Truely. From what my sifu and others have said that all the basics of praying mantis boxing can be found in bung bo. I'm still a bit too stiff and 'stop and go' with mine.
best one i have seen. Many people can perform it fast but without power or powerful but slow. this guy know how to train the power and speed in mantis style.
nice
