  • @deadslutbluewater holy shit!

  • @deadslutbluewater yeah, I 've seen it! it seems 2 sharks! one big and another to the right on the same wave!

  • Thats what you get for swimming at wedge in those conditions. DUMBASS!

  • Always wondered what are those yellow things the lifeguards have slung around their necks? I used to think they're carrying their valuables or something...

  • @fernandesfran haha that's a rescue tube

  • @fernandesfran ha thats a rescue tube so they don't have to come into contact with their casiulity. they also bring it out in case they get into difficulty themsevles.

  • fuck that guy was ok all he had to do was hold his breath till he got washed up

  • this shit happens here in hawaii every damn day and we just laugh at the dumbass tourist who think they know what theyre doing hahahahaha dumb fucks

  • @clarkewi did they hook surfers?? Or what happened

  • why do they let people in the water in conditions like this??? This guy has no board and no fins......what was he thinking???

  • @NatsTown2K10 No, half the time when things like this happen the beaches are CLOSED but dumb european and asian tourists go out anyway because they see the professional surfers out there.

  • @InfectedBeats Why bring race into it bro?!

  • @NatsTown2K10 he had fins 1:28

  • in part 0:02 dolfhins? in the wave?

  • dude didnt have any fins on....

  • sup

  • When I lived in Santa Cruz, it was always Asians fishing off the rocks at night that you would read about in the papers next day.

  • this lazy fuck cant even walk in 2 feet of water? Let him fucking die next time

  • @tommyequals let your mom suck my cock , while u go swimming at the wedge..deal..?

  • Y did he just sit there while another huge wave was comin..was his leg broken or somethin?

  • I've been turned up in some swells and undercurrents before and that shit ain't fun.

  • lots of fins lost ther xD

  • @Tr0lIedthats u kidding thats not that big for wedge I bodysurf wedge at 15 ft my brother and dad go out when its 20-25 ft. crazy shit

  • That wasn't a rescue, that was a debacle. Should have let him drown

  • that guys so fat and clueless, he is standing in knee high backwash and doesn't even try to talk out, just waves waits for 10 lifeguards to haul his fat fucking ass out

  • Great save Im a lifeguard and That was a great save! lucky guy i try to sve a boy once and died later in the hospital

  • what mong goes into that if they know they arnt capable?

  • That is one mean-ass rip current!

  • The guy they 'saved' looks like he was wasting everyone's time....

  • how many lifeguards does it take to save a man lol, they just kept coming

  • What an knob

  • Welcome To The Wedge.

  • that is a tough job...wow

  • What the hell were the lifeguards doing... waiting for him to somehow get in on his own? Get in there and get him fulls do youre gob!!

  • @AolePilikia42 you are one helluva idiot. you try doing that and try to pull 220 lbs out of one of the strongest backwashes in california.

  • @aldamano9 Ok OK I just watched the vid again and my comment stands!!! GET IN THERE AND DO SOMETHING!!! If someone just died earlier that day then what the hell was he doing in there... get off your ass and do some P.A. Ok so hes not from town as a LG u should know that and he shouldnt even of gone in! "you try doing that" really ive done worse if u think thats 20ft. waves u need to come to Hawaii and ill show you some 20ft. waves!!! Sincerely one pissed off ocean safety Lifeguard Thanks alote..

  • @aldamano9 You know what ill give them props when they finally did get in there the 4 lifeguards did brings him in safe "PROPS" to you Aloha!! Be Safe...

  • Comment removed

  • what a dumbo.

  • Was he drunk? Theres no way I would mess with waves that big. The guards did a good job:)

  • @EddieVedder13 sorry bro, it's their duty of care. If their on the job they have to.

  • I would hate to be a LifeGuard their

  • What an idiot, no fins!

  • @scottyrox123

I think you can see him take a fin off at (1:28)

  • That guy is really unintelligent. Nobody should be in the water.

  • Lifeguards lives should not be put at risk to save people who are dumb enough to go in this kind of water...

  • @EddieVedder13 It's hard to understand why there are people who put their lives on the line for others, but in the end it's their job ;)

  • what storm was coming?

  • good thing they got a small army of lifeguards to help a guy walk outta the water

  • I'd never mess with a wave that big..

  • He gives up and falls and is like "go on without me!" haha.

  • you've got to be a fool to swim in conditions like that

  • That's how the tsunami waves kill people. Tsunami waves are like 300 feet tall and suck you back into the sea. This is nothing compare to the Tsunami of 2004.

  • oh god i couldn't imagine trying to duckdive waves like that.

  • never such big waves......

  • IF IN DOUBT NO GO OUT...ALOHA...xD

  • You guys are all kooks, that was a succsesfull rescue, victim brought to shore safely & no lifeguards got hurt. What more can you ask for ?

  • these lifeguards have absolutely no idea what theyre doing

in a rescue you never nonchalantly walk towards the water with your flippers in your hands while someone is in trouble

especially when the shorebreak is that big and he could get a spinal injury from falling in shallow water or he could be dragged into the jetty or something worse

plus they let the guy trip on their rescue cans...

    idiots

  • @RidonculousRinoseruz Are youan lifegaurd?

  • @FaTalZoMbie yeah

Long Beach Township Beach Patrol, best on the east coast

  • @RidonculousRinoseruz I wan't to become something that includes with me swiming in the ocean ex. Navy Seals, lifegaurd etc. Is being a lifegaurd recomrnded?

  • @FaTalZoMbie of course

    lifeguarding is an amazing job

you learn responsibility and a whole bunch of skills that can be used on and off the beach

its also a great thing to put on your resume for any other job you want

  • What was that guy doing in the water. He was totally disorientated in the water Plus the water currects were pulling them all out

  • @ljustmadethisup4 yeah i know but why dont they have them on instead of just holding them lol?

  • why do the lifeguards carry flippers in there hands??

  • @sean3444 because they can swim faster and more efficiently against the impossible currents in situations like that.

  • youre dead without fins in there...unless youre a navy seal...even being in ankle deep water here can pull you out

  • at exactly 9.5 ceonds into the video you know this guy has no idea whats happening

  • Ive been a surf lifeguard for many years and to venture out in this surf, you really have to be extremely confident of your skills. Hard to say if he was just extremely exhausted, but he showed none of the skills of someone who knew what they were doing, ie. diving down under whitewash. And in this type of surf, what you have to do is dive down and actually dig your hands in the sand, to prevent it from tossing you about as its so shallow there. Foolish to swim within the break zone!

  • im englisha nd live in cornwall..theres a break on the northcoast called the cribber only works like 3 times a year but can get 15-25 foot we do have some good breaks but not many a few good ones up scotland way too...

  • he is obiously trying to get attension becuase ppl always tell u, if a wave is to big and u know ur fucked, just go under it and u can barely feel it going over u, except for if u have ur feet still on top of water. i made tht mistake once lol.

  • I would be embarrassed.

  • Is that a half-arsed lifeguard demo or something or was that guy on drugs?

  • Idiot u RIDE the waves out I would hav body surfed my ass back to shore

  • Why are the waves so high there?

  • @super6961 i was there visiting my cousin. and the reason the waves were so monsterous is because there was a minor earthquake on the new zealand coast and it took about 5 days for the waves to return to normal (which is still pretty damn big haha)

  • i was there that guy was so pounded

  • What a dumb fuck. When in doubt, don't go out fatso. You just jeopardize other people's lives.

  • He also had fins on which held him to the bottom

  • that guy's a fucking pussy

  • Lucky dude, wonder if he was an english tourist? Great job.

  • @Ampaccessories can i ask, why english? are we the only country who never see the sea? being on an island nation and all...

  • @SICKHEADCENTRAL I live on the coast, been surfing since i was 4 years old, and from my experience the majority of tourists who get into difficulty in the surf are usually european/ british, some asian, ect, ect.

I realize you may have taken offense at what i said, but i am simply going on percentages.. I am aware that britain is an island, but i don't believe there are many heavy breaks like the " wedge" there, thus brits being less experienced in a dangerous surf!

    Peace.

  • @Ampaccessories brits being less experienced baha yeah ok mate

  • @VESS121 Yeah there's a lot of hardcore ocean people in britain! Stick to your tea& crumpets, and not sinking unsinkable ocean liners! Please acquire some literacy in your posts next time?! I said Brits are less experienced in the surf, "TRUTH". Can't you fuckin read?

  • @Ampaccessories ill stick to my tea and crumpets even the i hate tea and it tastes like piss but you can stick to eating a shit load of macdonalds and shooting your own allies, you can't insult british people when you cant talk for yourself for americans are far worse

  • @VESS121 Ha Ha Ha, I'm a very fit person for your info, and you aren't the smartest tool in the shed are you? Where did I insult British people? I simply said, that are not as experienced in the surf as some people. You obviously can't read, or you are simply a brain dead dolt. Funny how you want to diss the US, but at the same time take advantage of evertthing the US has given you, ie computers, the Internet, ect ect.. I never Insulted british people.

  • @Ampaccessories i thought you were insulting man seen as though almost every american trys to yeah you may have given us all that but we gave you life we found your country

  • Comment removed

  • @VESS121 Damn Straight.

  • @Ampaccessories I'm no lifeguard but as a surfer I've rescued a good share of unsuspecting tourist from the surf that got pulled out into the breakers.

  • @Ampaccessories nob! think bout thurso! ALLL of the east coast and majority of the reefs on the north coast of cornwall. little bit of research goes along way. TWAT

  • @Ampaccessories I'm british and yes I would get my arse kicked by them waves I wouldn't dream of going in there ;)

  • Its not a matter of not being able to swim, or "manning up", or being a noob, the fact is there is a huge undertow there. Like someone else already said, its like a white wash flash flood, its insanely strong stuff. And if you keep falling in the middle of that washing machine you get exhausted pretty easy and that makes it easy for bad situations to result of it.

  • fucking noob what he thinks there going to drag him in jeez if he could of stand for that long im pretty sure redneck can walk

  • GOOD JOB NB!!!

  • Those waves are gigantic.

  • I don't think some of you realize how far that water is traveling in such a short time.....It's literally a flash flood beneath you.....I've been here many times in the water and it is very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing....We call that area the WashingMachine because it's on constant Spin Cycle......I remember once it took me a good 10 minutes to get out after a wave once....my board was on the rocks for a while and I was exhausted....Mucho respect for ALL life guards....

  • that guy needs to seruisly man upp

  • @dimension5458 you are a jack off.

  • if u cant swim, stay out of the water

  • @revolver1750 ...good advice....but ANY swimmer OF ANY SKILL LEVEL can end up like this. THERE is no such thing as a human that is "drown-proof"

  • of course anyone can get dragged out in a rip or get knocked down in a wave but that guy obviously had little or no experience in the water. it doesnt show the whole vid by id bet he was ankle deep and get knocked down and dragged or walked out not knowing a set was coming. NO one should have been allowed in the water that day without surfboard or boogie wit fins, people just dont respect the ocean.

  • haha the wedge wins.

  • anyone calling those lifeguards bad....ill believe you only by posting a video of YOURSELF doing better

  • No fins, or board = death at the wedge.

  • Worst Lifeguards I've erver seen

  • that's because you couldn't get out, kook.

  • HORRIBLE display of lifeguarding that weekend

  • @tjb727 The current pulls like a bitch and its hard to stand, water is not your friend when the red flag is up.

  • @tjb727 WHAT the fuck are you even talking about???

  • These waves are huge!

There should be a rope or something in the water so the swimmers could pull themselves up from the water.

  • i was there and saw this happen

the news was looking for people to interview about it

several other rescues were made by a lifeguard boat that would go in and pick up people(in between sets of course) that got overwhelmed

  • i hope u drown then

  • the guy was fine

  • those waves are sick

  • man im a lifeguard at the wedge the statistics r if you go in without flippers on a rough day ur lucky 2 come out

  • no wedge guard calls fins flippers

  • touche

  • man O' man when are people going to learn not to mess with The Wedge?

  • lol i love how hed just take the waves full on and he didnt even try to go under

  • why did he not have fins lol

  • He did. He lost them. That is why he turned into a rescue.

  • 1:37 that guy is moonwalking!

  • yea ive had my fins torn off many a time. finsavers are a great investment. got tired of losing finnys

  • hahaha oh my god!

they shoulda left him in there taught him a lesson!

don't mess with the sea mother f**KER

  • Blehh. Just be quiet.

  • i was there that guy was retarded the chubby lifegaurd was a hero hahha

  • How many rescues were there that weekend? Amazing how people went in there.

  • there were like 600 rescues that weekend. I was at L street right next to wedge and I hade some insane rescues.

  • yea seriously, stay home. also, lifeguards wouldnt "put on a show for the public" in 20 ft swell. thats retarded. why wasnt this asshole wearing fins?

  • He was, he takes one off and loses it at 1:28 the lifeguards wouldnt have let anyone near the water on that day without fins.

  • Im almost certain the waves ripped his fins off. Happens all the time, not to mention when its that big.

  • Cuz he's prob douchebag 909'er

  • and they arent douchebags they are stupid beaners

  • @wbfw

I'm sure your just some young kid who doesn't know much; yet, you think you're really smart...This man could have easily lost his life that day...This was July 24th...The next day a man lost his life at this very beach...."Show some respect or shut your mouth"-words of TRUE wisdom...but you'll learn one day it's smarter to say nothing at all...

  • guy is an inlander for not having fins at the very least

  • if he wasnt wearing fins then agreed, but then again he may have just got them sucked off, in which case hes a douche for not wearing fin-savers

and wtf do you mean islander ?

  • @carde028

    inlander

    not islander

  • Seems like a fake practice session. I thought the guy really had a heartattack but he's just fine. Any reason why they would put on a practice show for the public?

  • next time STAY THE FUCK AT HOME! stupid fucks were all trying to be heroes this weekend.

hope this dickhead learned his lesson...

  • one lifeguard was freaking out on 1 guy i was there. the lifeguard was a dick and the guy was out of air...

  • they rescued some guy that didnt need it i was there he was fine....he was needless to say very pissed off

  • one lifeguard was a big douch

  • what a dumbass. no board or fins.

  • It"s a pity some people don't know their limits. Further to that....how to recognise dangerous surf. Our beach has the highest # of spinal injuries in Australia.

  • hey! that was me in the red boardshorts

;)P hahahah ive been looking for myself in one of these vids forever, ah, i found myself!! lol

  • DId you find me yet?

  • yea, you were at the end of the vid in the white shorts lol

  • wow those are huge waves.

  • dude the guy was 50, read the paper. i did.

  • Not the same guy.

  • no in the description he said a 37 year old man died but the guy was 50.
