There are many Islamic countries that never praticed this on girls.Believe what you want, if Muslims are telling you it is not in our religion then maybe you should listen with an open mind. Better yet, find me any order in Quran or sayings of the Prophet Muhammed called hadiths then I'll believe you.

By the way, this isn't JUST Egyptian, African countries such as Somalia still preform the practice as well. Some go further, to cut away the lips, inner and out labia as well as to sew her vaginal opening to be as small as a straw. In those extreme instances, the woman has a 40% increase in birth mortality rates.
