I did get to fly down to LA for a Club Noikia gig year before last. (Gwen Stefani and Dear Dave Wakling were there! It was good to see Dave. An honor to stand 10ft away from beautiful Miss Gwen.) and then Palm Springs for Cochela. The Specials didn't disappoint!!
If you are gonna call yourself "The Beat" you had better live up to your name...and these guys sure did. They made my young teens so enjoyable growing up in a violent Northern Ireland escaping to the kicking ska they had to offer. Still Britain's most underrated 80's band.. beautiful forever.
well.. music 101! when traveling abroad.. If you go to another country and want to sell records ou better hope that band name of yours is not copyrighted to someone else. So there was aleady a band in the U.S.A. called "The Beat" So Mr. get on the band wagon to bash yanks.. Dave Wakling took "The English Beat" to sell records!
copyright aside people are more than capable of knowing 2 bands called the beat and distinguishing them. there are lots of people called james and "yanks" as you put it manage to do that.

we can go through every cover of this song on here but when you read the comments, it's apparent that nobody ever listens to the words of this song.
Great cover, with much fuckin enjoyment. Thanks.
