Wrong buddy. Turbocharged cars require no more maintenance than a Supercharged one or N/A. You just need to use better oil and fuel. You also need to let the turbo cool down after driving it hard that way you don't heat soak it and start warping parts and destroy center cartridge. There are plenty of people that daily Evo's, DSM's, WRX's, and all the other turbo charged vehicles. About the 370 they are amazingly fun to drive but not quite as fun as the 350 awhp evo I drove the month before lol.
its actually safer to let the car rest at least 2 minutes before turning it off if its turboed and doesnt have a turbo timer. i dont think it matters how hard you drive it. since the turbos are ran off the exhaust, the fumes heats up all the parts of the turbo. you can drive it a minute easily and it will still heat up. and i do take back my previous statement turbos arent harder to take care of they harder to install. the TRD S/C bolts in place of a 1mz's upper plenum. so WAY easier to install
Actually how hard you drive the car does matter. A turbo running at higher speeds and creating more boost will cause more heat in the compressor than driving on less boost and slower compressor speeds. If you never hit boost then the amount of time it takes to heat up the compressor will increase. In the case of your car yes I would say its easier but in other applications no slapping on an exhaust manifold and some piping would be much easier aka Honda's where the entire intake has to come off.

he might have but a custom block costs less for a camry then a sti....and you can have up to about 18 lbs of boost on a stock camry...seen it done and know my numbers arnt wrong.

We had too much trouble with our 2006 Camry, we traded it off and bought a Saturn Aura, 50,000 miles so far no problem,dealer was outstanding. Rated a top reliability car .
Don't bother trying to hear for pinging on top of a T66 turbo, a 3" open exhaust and road noise. I have nad many occasions filming cars on the dyno that were audibly pinging, but it is impossible to get it on film. By the way, the Camry on the video is mine, and I am still running on the same motor (this T66 setup was from 3 years ago...). Search for Dynamotorsports here on Youtube for newer videos
It's a 4800RPM stall converter... The RPM's will not climb above that unless my vehicle speed surpasses the mechanical relationship between the engine and transmission. 99% of the time, the engine will spend its time at 5000RPM throughout the entire gear. You should already know that if you are informed about built automatics/high stall setups, and it has nothing to do with the engine timing.

the 370z is RATED at 330hp, but it makes 280hp at the wheels.
the reason why a lot of Z are rolling around is because they are one of the best bang-for-buck cars on the market.
As for the camry having built internals, doubt it, but if you got the money, you can have any shop make stronger internals.

he probably had to put a custom block in his unless hes only pushing about 5 to 6 lbs of boost the with high boost he has to customize the engine highly

he might have but a custom block costs less for a camry then a sti....and you can have up to about 18 lbs of boost on a stock camry...seen it done and know my numbers arnt wrong.

i disagree. if you tune a camry you just cant get a faster car to tune, or just boerd. People buy sti's and sstill tune them to 500hp+ monsters. when have you seen a camry get 500 or 600hp?? Supras are fast off the assembly line and people still tune them. Some people got over 1000hp. And thats not easy to get 1000hp

A person that puts turbo on a Camry is someone that wants a fastER camry, the engines natuarally idle at higher speeds to provide more torque than other engines which is why they're so fast. Not to mention by racing a Camry, you're going to win a lot of races... for A LOT of years because they are so reliable. I have only been beat once in my Camry and that was by a 2006 Corvette - V6 vs. V8 what do you expect but atleast neither one was a 4 cylinder.

i would if i had the money i own a 1988 toyota camry uno the 1 with the toyota CELICA motor..from a 1988 camry with a 2 litre 4 clylinder 5 speed manual and to clock its 200km/h speedo i think it does rather well..put a hair dryer on it and itll go even better

We had too much trouble with our 2006 Camry, we traded it off and bought a Saturn Aura, 50,000 miles so far no problem,dealer was outstanding. Rated a top reliability car .

Don't bother trying to hear for pinging on top of a T66 turbo, a 3" open exhaust and road noise. I have nad many occasions filming cars on the dyno that were audibly pinging, but it is impossible to get it on film. By the way, the Camry on the video is mine, and I am still running on the same motor (this T66 setup was from 3 years ago...). Search for Dynamotorsports here on Youtube for newer videos

It's a 4800RPM stall converter... The RPM's will not climb above that unless my vehicle speed surpasses the mechanical relationship between the engine and transmission. 99% of the time, the engine will spend its time at 5000RPM throughout the entire gear. You should already know that if you are informed about built automatics/high stall setups, and it has nothing to do with the engine timing.
