  • hi tony, brilliant hearing this gem. could it be regarded as glam rock?

  • I actually remember this single - I think that I still have it somewhere! I thought that they were great and sort of special because I discovered them and none of my friends did!

If you want to get stuff released on CD it might be worth asking Cherry Red to get on to it - they have a very useful suggestions button on the first page of their website - OR you could pester BBR records - they are now branching out from soul music to start a pop label. I shall be contacting them soon!

I remember seeing you at the Village night club in Stretford, Manchester, Piccadilly Radio was there too, do you remember it?

  • @markmywords57

hi, yes! iT WAS A GOOD GIG

  • What a great song!!!

  • this is the 1 record i always wanted but as i was only 13 at the time never got it so plzd 2 see it on Youtube x

  • Further to the last, I'm still a mobile DJ, and since Pirate Bay and You Tube, I have another copy (MP3) and a new generation are getting down to a stonking tune. I still have the original, so I'm copyright covered. One day Rodney, we'll be number one. I jest. I normally end an evening with this, Wild Mountain Thyme/Strawbs or Get Outa My House by Hustler.

It was fun though, I loved every minute of the seventies music scene

  • Many moons ago, I was a young naiive 20 year old working in a record shop in Camberley, Surrey. We closed for Wednesday afternoons (half day) and did stock control, and entertained visits from reps. One of those was Geoff from RCA who played us several singles (this was in early 1975) and one was Slow Down. I'd bee a DJ for all of 3 years (mobile, birthdays, parties, bar mitzvahs, anything), and when I heard this record I went 'Wow, number one', but sadly it didn't come to pass. But I did try.

  • @badgersclose thanks for trying!

  • Hi Toni. LOVE this song. Always filled the dancefloor back in the day, and indeed, it still does now when Im "jocking".

  • Maybe some other folk remember Dave Almond's incredible playing - as evidenced at a Burnley College gig c.May 73. The first really good player I'd ever seen at first hand [and remains one of the best]. It left a big impression on me. Thanks Dave. Hope you're still playing.
