  • Confirmed. Horrifyingly so.

  • PHYSICS. PHYSICS PHYSICS PHYSICS PHYSICS PHYSICS. You scare me sometimes at the powers you can achieve.

  • Dude i am watching this high as fuck right now and im thinking that is the most brutal painful death you can experience

  • These guys are REALLY hard up for ideas. The squeeze isn't a myth if there are documented cases of it happening. Physics says it's a real thing, history says it's a real thing...just because you don't think it can happen doesn't mean it's a myth.

  • @riddleman65 I think most people are able to figure out that Mythbusters chooses some of it's "myths" based on visuals and viewer interest. I've been diving since about 1986 and I'm glad they did this myth. It was a great visual....and sometimes...even though you know the result....seeing it has a much larger impact. Also, with today's technology....if it's not on film....it can be subject to debate. This video removes any doubt or wonder;) Long live MB's!

  • sounds like popcorn

  • These guys are way to enthusiastic about this considering people actually have died this way.

i would like to see them cheering like that when blowing up a doll with a IED.

  • Why does everyone think this is so disgusting? It's just a bit of meat...

  • @OldManInAVan It's more scary than disgusting. Imagine a real Human experiencing that.....and it's actually happened before.

  • KEEEEEEEEWLLL :DDDD

  • on new style helmets like Kirby Morgan, there is a non return valve to stop this from happening.

  • I never expected this to actually happen when I saw it. That is one nasty way to go.

  • Soup :)

  • Sweet jesus...

  • They should execute people this way.

  • That would make an awesome SAW trap.

  • Looks like something to try on Jerry Sandusky

  • Ugh. Am I the only one who thinks these guys are WAY too enthusiastic about this? I mean, yeah. That's impressive and all. But in more of a "wow, I'm sure glad that's not happening to me" way, not a "HOLY CRAP GUYS THAT WAS AWESOME" way.

  • @0mni42 You have to remember that they spent the last X weeks working on this scenario and it validated all of their findings

  • holy mother of....geez tht was....but awesome! :D

  • R.I.P Meat Man

  • Just to think this happened to real divers. .___.

  • ahem... *hurls*. that is all. good day.

  • FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY.....

  • that was pretty gross

  • Thumbs up for new saw death!

  • noticed blood coming from his mouth

  • What depth was that?

  • @soberek was 91meters

  • must never go that deep into ocean ever

  • Thats why dive hats have a one way valve and it is the first thing checked before the unbilical is hooked up.

  • I AM A HARDHAT DIVER AND I KNOW EVERYTIME I GO TO WORK THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN TO ME. TO SEE COOL COMERCIAL DIVING PHOTOS CHECK OUT OFFSHOREDIVER.

  • I wished they have disassemble helmet from suit and show what's had left.

  • Oh my Goodness what an awfull way to die

  • It's not really that funny. The only way the MythBusters found out about this is from a real story, and some poor diver going a way nobody deserves to go.

  • I feel sorry for who ever died like this. Really terrible way to die.

  • Having read about the Byford Dolphin incident, I knew this would happen. Still amazing to see nonetheless.

  • @falariem byford dolphin was the opposite -- rapid DEcompression

  • @lebojay Absolutely! That's not to mention the fact that the decompression in Byford Dolphin also happened a LOT faster.

  • I have some meat that Kari is welcome to compress!

  • Gornies Mythbusters ever!

  • best episode ever! It's like POP POP SQUISHHH

aw man, I feel sorry for whoever had to die that way. It's got to be among the worst.

  • Dude that's insane!! If we started talking about myths like this in physics, I might actually pay attention. :)

  • @1212surface

A 1atm rigid suit like the Newt Suit can only go to 2,000 feet. But a human being can work even deeper if equalized with the pressure, wearing just a wetsuit and a hardhat style diving helmet like most deep sea oil rig welders. I think 3,000 ft is the record for humans, and once a chimp was sent down to 5,000 feet in a diving bell. He was exposed to the outside pressure, and then decompressed gently on the way up. The way I hear it, he survived with no injuries.

  • DAMN! Hey i think he's still alive

  • This had to be my favorite episode. SSQQUUIIISH!!!

  • Holy.... shit. I saw the gory warning but still, damn. I thought I had a pretty good stomach for this kinda thing but apparently not.

Still, kinda cool. Horrible, but cool.

  • This has happened to people.

  • how many ft down do they go

  • @wanttogym I think they were around 300 ft down

  • OH MY GOSH

  • That girl who temporarily replaced Kari was so god damn annoying. Everything she said was ignored, obviously because Tory and Grant were thinking "Shut Up".

  • No shit, deepsixed300.

  • @themauronunez Then why say so?

  • lol, he drowned in his own blood ^^

  • Wich episode is this?

  • This is why we shouldn't sleep during physic class.

  • Imagine being the first guy, way back when, to reel the poor bastard up and find out that'd happened to him... ugh.

  • a good way to kill criminals

  • Meat man is fricking scary.

  • newt suits (1 atmosphere) are...like the robotic type ones in james bond's "for your eyes only". but most commercial divers just wear a helmet and protective clothes.

  • @themauronunez ADS aren't robotic

  • Interesting, but also disgusting and disturbing.

  • now try it with Justin Bieber

  • MORT DE RIRE... TROP MALADE LE RESULTAT XDDD

THI IS REALLY FUCKTOP AND SICK RESULT ....LOOL WATH THE F**K LOOOL

  • Good to see them testing this. But people have died this way and these guys are just cheering about it

  • @breaker1237547 Many of the myths they test on that show involve things that have killed people: aviation mishaps, car crashes, flaming overalls, rocket-assisted Chevrolets...

  • the best way to lose weight (y)

  • @S4Lrobin

You dont lose weight, you lose volume :D

  • @AGWittmann you don't lose weight or volume, you lose surface area.

  • @edmuspony you lose volume cos meat is compressible

  • even if you cut the air supply the air wouldn't be squeezed out unless the one way valve was broken somehow.

  • OH MY GOD! YOU KILLED MEATMAN!

  • That would probably be one of the worst possible ways to die.

  • aah this is fucking horrible

  • Mythbusters are AWESOME! Well done ye lot :)

  • eeeeeeeewwwwwwww this is like something from Final Destination

  • @futoku

it's some meat and an old diving suit bro, not a real person. Save your hippie bullshit for a coffee-shop discussion with your vegan friends.

  • @D3STRUKT0R99

    You got trolled :P

  • @futoku

i forgot. were supposed to be nice to our enemies.

"can you not blow yourself up right now? im trying to bake you cookies!!!"

  • @viperkilo No shit right?

  • @futoku You're a moron.

  • @futoku You're a fucking pussy faggot. Do you enjoy sipping lattes while wearing a beret you condescending, elitist shitpig of a cunt?

  • ow 0.0..................................

  • i'm having a headache now.....

  • As a commercial Diver i found this extremely difficult to watch. Now we rely on a little valve to prevent this from happening, but if it fails....

  • @themauronunez aren't modern suits self contained?

  • This is the best one EVER!

  • The families of these suits' early test subjects weren't paid enough.

  • That would be the absolute worst way to die.

  • @coolshots77

Differantial pressure could hurt pretty badly too

  • @coolshots77 I just threw up in my mouth

  • haa pregnant from the idiot junior mythbuster.

He busted a myth inside her

  • Can we try this with Al Gore?

  • OMG look at that helmet

  • Though I understand the hype over the confirmation, I still can't share their joy. "Sorry meat man, but it was totally worth it". Yeah right... totally worth the flood of images of dead divers in my head. Sea men pulling up their mates only to find shrunken husks and a bucketful of brains, blood and entrails inside the helmet.

Well, I'm sorry miss but it ain't funny...

  • @NaxNax96 Someone apparently doesn't know this show very well.

  • @NaxNax96 huh huh huh Sea men

  • That is the most messed up thing I have ever seen.

  • and this is why modern commercial dive helmets have non return valves!

  • And to think this REALLY DID happen to some poor guy, I reckon it must've been quite painful and left a shocking mess.

  • @rasfraser

Imagine being the boat crew pulling the cage back up and finding THAT.

  • @chitoryu12 Yes it was probably a slow death too. I'd imagine it's the same as putting a beer bottle to your lip and sucking the air out and then letting it suck your lip back in, but on a much larger and much more painful scale.

  • @rasfraser

I would imagine it was terribly painful. Like being in a three-way car crusher.

  • WOW!! That was amazing, and disturbing! And impressive!

  • thanks for the upload mate, sick of the discoverynetwork putting trailers up

  • How deep was it ?

  • @insertia2nd 300 feet.

i was recording it and right when it went back to meat man after grant dumps the air pressure the recording stopped.

    the suspense was killing me!!!

  • @thebeatles500 then you were there ? omg cool !

wait, 300 feet that means about 100 meters ?

what about Tanya Streeter that went 160 ? Insane...

  • @thebeatles500 You were down there ?? Cool !!

No sharks down there right ? lol

and Tanya Streeter went 160m under the surface...after seeing this...it's just insane...

  • wow. we watched the start of this episode in school but the lesson ended. i just had to find out how it ended

  • Makes me rewatching The big Blue ;)

Awesome show...just brilliant..and blondie needs to clean the suit.

  • That body had no muscle, no tendons, nothing is connected to anything else, just loose flesh over a skeleton. And they're surprised it squished up ?

  • It would still happen I'm sure, just a little slower. 135 pounds of pressure per square inch! That's a lot of pressure. I really don't think you'd do any better than Meat Man did.

  • @gumballthechewy No doubt I'd be crushed, not sure about the squishing up part though, the human body is one incredible machine. And unlike meat man, I am muscle man : ) peace.

  • @0Idskool

so the metal helmet is also from loose flesh ? so thats why it squished right ?

  • Some people don't understand exactly how much pressure 135 psi is.

  • Thats cause allyou think of if the 135. Not the PSI portion

  • Thats cause all most people think of is the the 135 part. Not the PSI portion

  • OK that made no sense...

  • strange how excited they are to be simulating something that would be so horrible

  • im watching this during the mythbusters top 25 moments because they showed a short clip of it and i just went "HOLY **** .what the **** was that?!" and i just had to look it up

  • I was really convinced it would happen slowly..but wow! XD Squish!

  • Best Mythbusters episode EVER!!!

  • Science: It works, bitches.

  • That's the creepiest thing I've ever seen.

  • what happened to kari byron?

  • @thearmouredbunker Pregnancy.

  • @thearmouredbunker She's pregnand

  • Shana's a hottie.

  • thats raunchy..

  • RIP Meatman.

  • was that a real human?

  • @spartexx yeah, it was jamie

  • @spartexx Of course! They just hire people who have no good reason to stay alive and tell them "hey, would you please die in horrible pain on a children's tv show???". Surprinsingly, a guy turned up and say he would....

    Come on...

  • @sadella Don't be surprised, there are people who answered similar ads to be eaten, No Joke.

  • LOL @ the face Grant makes when the head explodes

  • the sharks will eat u...haha..

  • Alas, poor Meatman.

  • This must be THE goriest myth they ever did. That is just SICK!

  • It's the same thing as boiling a can with a a little bit of water in it... and then tossing on the lid HARD and off with the heat - then the steam cools and atmospheric pressure crunches the can as the 1 liter of steam cools to 1 cc of water.

Only with the diving system, the hose is the channel from the high pressure to the low pressure zone.....

Remind me to check my valve....

  • @callmeshane303 um no, thats nothing like this.

  • goodness when i saw this the first time i was like "...EUGH...UGH.. OW..EGH.. OH MY... EWW

  • MEATLOAF =P

  • Wow, i dont want to die that way :P

Good thing that something like that cant happen nowadays

  • This CAN happen even today

  • @ztrinx1 Yes, divers can get much the same if they come up to the surface from deep down too quick. It's called The Bends.

  • Saw this last night. Mental!

  • Kanedaaaaaaa, Tetsuoooooooo.

  • In a Chaotic Evil alternate universe, that would be a blasphemer of Lord Eld Isturak being subjected to live execution for the joy of the faithful.

  • maybe my favorite myth buster test ever

  • The must freakiest, thats for sure.

  • i approve the numbers in your name, just not the comment you just made.

  • yeah ive had that happen once or twice, didnt feel too good, i'll tell you that...

  • who is this new presenter??

    not as good as karrie

  • @rhcpalex93 the new girl is Jessie Cooms, she used to be on spike tv's Xtreme 4X4

  • Now think about all the commercial divers who work with this danger everyday.

  • Physics > Meat Man

  • This is like straight out of a horror movie. I feel like throwing up. ://

  • poor edward cossaboom.

  • Fastest Gastric bypass ever?

  • dont give the fatties any ideas.

  • The most surprising thing on here was Kari's pregnancy, I am both happy/sad at the same time. Happy she's having a child, but sad that it is not my child.

  • lol. she doesn't want a guy who sits and watches youtube videos instead of working.:p

  • This was the best mythbusters EVER

  • mmmmmmm viscera

  • That would suck..

  • Bitch is annoying

  • Wtf? why?

  • kari's pregnant? I knew someone would get it done.

  • @Perktube1

i know right, what a lucky man!

  • of course very soon he's gonna have to change diapers =oP
