liverpool had shit away support that day. only had half the north terr and that wasnt anywhere near full. for what liverpool won in them days had some shocking gates
@TranmereBJ your talking shit was 4 sections in the away end and one was completely empty for the whole game so capacity was never reached. the 2 sections lpool had held 5.000 yet lpool had about 3.000 to 3.500 deffo no more. 41.442 was at this game yet capacity was 45.000 at the time tho there was a few hundred chelsea in a fenced off bit not supposed to be in use so maybe gate was more but ground deffo werent full to capacity so why say it was you look silly
@TranmereBJ The North away section was still half empty so why would they close the gates? For the most successful club in England at the time, Liverpool's following at the Bridge was always average. The likes of Newcastle, Boro and Man City used to bring more than them. You filled 2 pens at most in this match, 2000 I'd say, and a mob of Chelsea spent the entire match trying to get at them. As for going into the Shed, hmmm...
16 yars old in the white wall of the shed, after we scored ended up on the west side. Remember the stewards givng the scousers a pasting with their fold up chairs. Oh happy days! Then we went and lost to the yids!
So they did! Duh! Beat Leeds in the final. They beat Chelsea in the semi final. It was 66' that Chelsea knocked Liverpool out at Anfield....I think. That is right isn't it?
I was there in the benches in the west stand, We were in the second division and the scousers were European champions. We knocked em out the cup again.

@simon1970100
Actually too many home fans were allowed in to the home areas and the ground capacity was reached before all Liverpool fans were in.
We got locked out and ended up in the Shed with 10/15 minutes to go.
Chelsea had a habit of doing that for big games....cos that's the only time any Chelsea fans bothered to turn up.
My, my look at them now..

@razer4660
There were actually only about 900-1000 Liverpool fans in the ground... There were more Chelsea fans in the North stand than Liverpool.
