@bla78ck Burn the lights out? Well, perhaps.........but after having that scanner setup since 2007, I haven't yet. :-) It's not one of the halogen light setups. It actually uses 35 Watt brake light bulbs. I went that route since it's just as bright (as you can see) and the demands on Kitt's battery are much lower.

i can tell you, ive had nothing but hell from one specific cop, to the point where he actually came into my work to tell me that if i didnt remove the lights, he'd fine me for EACH bulb! But i talked to my local police dept. and they told me as long as the light werent running while i was driving, they technically werent illegal. So the next ( and last ) time that asshole cop pulled me over, i told him the deal and he hasnt bothered me since

@TrueAlmightyOutcast I've had similar dealings with one or two cops out here like that too. Those are the ones that let their ego do their work. But like yourself, I handled it and am not bothered anymore. :-)

@ShepperdW After market wheels would make my Kitt look different.....but that's not what Kitt had, it's not what I grew up as a kid seeing, it's not what I struggled so hard to find, and it's not what "I'd" be happiest with. The wheels on my Kitt are not just authentic KNIGHT RIDER Wheels.....but they in themselves have a huge history behind them....and if you knew me, my Kitt, or the 17 year history I've had with them.....you'd know.....these wheels aint going nowhere. :-)

@KN1IGHT lol, this is my first ford I've owned though. I still have my c-10 :). I got the mustang when my friend rolled my buick down a mountain when I let him borrow it (not lying). Never let a friend drive around this car for a few days... learn from me... and ford's are ok, they most certainly have a different "swagga" then anything gm puts out lol... not sure which I prefer... but I am more used to gm.

@ShepperdW I've owned a Ford before.....wasn't that bad.....but I've always had GM products, and my KITT car has been with my since 1994. So, as far as ease of working on them goes....give me a GM product over a Ford any day. :-) But I guess it's all relative.

@MickScarborough For the last 10 years, my "internet" name has been KNI1GHT. On Myspace, on Yahoo, On AOL, on all the Knight Rider message boards....on everything! Back when I set my Youtube account up......the name "KNI1GHT" was taken....don't know by who....but it wasn't available at the time. So I switched the I and the 1. It's kind of became my youtube trademark now. But, if you google KNI1GHT....you'll see all about my sites, links, and this channel. :-) Good observation though.

@CJaguar265 That all depends on the cops in your specific area. Some would argue that it doesn't matter what color it is....it still represents a flashing light. It's all relative to your area.

@KN1IGHT Florida has no specific laws against flashing lights and does not define what flashing is. So it kind of ends up depending on the cop and the judge's interpretation of whatever statute that was applied since there is no specific law.

@MickScarborough You are pretty much right.....but after driving my Kitt car for 17 years.....I've come to the realization, that 99.9% of cops won't let you get away with driving with that type of "scanner" light running down the highway....no matter what color it is. Some cops are awesome when it comes to spotting these cars....but some are royal dicks. The dicks can really make your life hell if you want to F with them. So.....I put on a cool face....and they don't mess with me or the car.

Hey Mike. Just wanted to say i've watched a lot of videos of other Kitt conversions and I have to say yours is by far my favorite. Your attention to detail and the overall functionality of your Kitt is by far the best. As a huge Knight Rider fan I someday wanna build my own conversion. I can only imagine how much money you have invested. Keep your videos coming.

I've always had a passion for this crazy car.....and I never sought out to make my Kitt a reality for any other reason other than I wanted what I saw in the show. It's awesome when folks like you tell me how detailed and close I got. :-) It may not be the fastest, the newest, or the most fuel efficient thing on the road....but who cares....It's "my" Kitt car. :-) And that's why I built it.
