  • I think it is just the gay indoctrination song they hated. Teaching kids it is okay to be a faggot. And weird and perverted. The intelligent ones are those that can clearly see this is bullshit agenda music created by the gay society to try to justify their sick perversions.

  • 54 people missed the like button, :/ shame, we know what you meant :D

  • i am sopposed t sing and meorize this song

  • @TheDutchman777 Another fuckin' idiot with '2011' comments.

  • WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow the 49 ppl who disliked this must have had one shitty childhood! And are now having one shitty adulthood!!! I mean who hates the muppets?!?!

  • So good but kind of depressing!

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you Jim Henson.

  • This is a weird video to have a Victoria's Secret ad next to.

  • There was a guy in Australia that held up a radio station at gunpoint just so they could play this song for 19 hours straight, before police authorities arrested him... Yeah I would have done it for this song

  • @TheDutchman777 Fuck you u bitch THUMBS. GET IT RIGHT ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO ARE BREAKING THE HEART OF OUR SOCIETY WITH HORRIBLE SPELLING.

  • Tsk Tsk tsk Wat Ppl Will Say & Do 4 Top Rated Comments = P

  • POOPS! I don't get why they have to take all these songs off especially since the credits are on there.

    Electrician's Wife

  • 34 people couldn't find the connection.

  • They took the song out??

  • rainbow kuneksjon :D

  • I hate WMG.

  • What does Howard Green's "Rainbow" and this song that we're listening to have in common? Nothing. This is a flase Content ID match. Why don't you simply dispute that claim? They do sound alike.

  • was gonna suggest taking the video down if it's not even what anyone wants to see, but see others have already said the same... so who's the A-hole? WMG or the BS poster?

  • if you can't use the real song, why post this crap, idiot? Die.

  • @Pugiron READ why he took it down! Sheesh.

  • Well, alls I have to say is, why not come out with Muppet Movie 2 and he can

sing DOUBLE Rainbow Connection, ya know, like double rainboy guy!

  • That WMG thing is getting on my nurves! They should NOT ruin good things. I liked that song, dammit!

  • wats the name of this song?

  • WMG sucks .... let's all never buy any of their products again as long as they want to be greedy.

  • @Myjohnnydoodles Amen, no money to WMG. Blocking free advertisement by fans on youtube should cost them money. There are other things to spend my money on...I'll only buy this second hand, a 80's vintage recording, so WMG gets nothing. Boycott greedy pigs.

  • Lame wmg. This is why we can't have nice things, but thanks for posting this in the first place.

  • Why? Just why?

  • What the ........

  • Creepy decision.. thanks for your attempt to share with us.

  • I agree with KatsuMacKinncheez.. Please take it down or change the title. I loaded this and waited for it to buffer on my slow Internet connection only to find that I had wasted my time. If it's not the the content as advertised, then why leave it up?

  • @KatsuMacKinncheez

    and now you been blocked

  • @helixsniper take the damn video down like that other guy said if you know its playing the incorrect song, or are you leaving it up there just to get the views?

  • HEY WMG.......YOU STINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WMG KILLS PUPPIES (probably)

  • I love Kermit! Thank you for posting this!

  • WMG have been murdering youtube for too long..

  • @BelfastAtheist and its high time someone does something about it, someone should take those satanic cappies to the supreme court abd if that doesn't work, well they might have a shitload of fun being cursed and then they still have hell to look forward to

  • strange how jim was adamantly not going to sell our to disney before he died, then just months after, his son sold right away.

  • WMG Go F yourselves.

Keep the faith people. Keep resisting.

Would have been a nice watch that Helix. Thanks anyway.

  • You guys are right I am 41 years old and I still believes in the puppets especially Kermit. Growing up in the 80s without Kermit I would have been a serial killer or something like that. Thanks for the memories.

  • beautiful! i've always loved kermit and awlays will he's not just a puppet he's 100% real to me!

  • kermit is my hero! he never let me down!

  • Stupid as this sounds, it's hard to believe that he's just a puppet. haha :P

  • I dont think it sounds stupid. It does get really hard to believe that they're all only puppets. I've grown to believe that they are real! XD

  • Thank you for posting this song. I really brings back memories and good ones at that. I loved that movie as a kid so very much.

  • I don't know what the heck my cousin was thinking when he said this song was for babies. =/ It's very creative and pretty, thanks for posting it ^_^

    Well done, Kermit~~

  • I just heard Andy on The Office sing this, so I just had to see the video. (:

  • i have to sing this song in adv chorus

  • omg me too only in fith grade im 23 now but my music teacher died shorty after we sang this song..shortly meaning a year later so when i play the album version and i hear the crinkle album i think of him aww and i cry....

  • ohhh...The Rainbow Connection...sooo amazing!

  • Our son will be 3 months soon and he's now reacting and responding by cooing when you speak to him. But when I sing him this song, he does his baby best to sing along by cooing. And when he does that.... I get teary eyed and choked-up somewhere midway through the song. It's a very heart-warming experience.

  • I dedicate this to my dear friend Kermie - I miss you!

  • Great song

  • Thank you Helixsniper - I loved this song when I first heard it on The Muppet Show way back when - it always makes me cry. I think it's because it's full of hope and belief that the world will someday be a better place. I miss the Muppets. Thank you again for posting this.

  • This song makes me cry too! Thanks for posting it...takes me right back. I so miss the Muppets.

  • When I think back on my childhood this song helps define it. As I got older, I started to better understand the song and its sentiment. I soon realised how beautiful it is. That just makes it better. Now I am 32 and my little girl Emma is only 3 weeks old . I want this to be our special song like it has been for others. I have visions of Emma being on a "You Tube" in 25 years telling others that this is the song her and her dad sang together. I want her to find the rainbow connection!

  • wow...thats awesome....xx

  • Little Emma is one lucky girl having you for a daddy. She will certainly find her rainbow connection because she already has it--your love.

  • 2:18...feel the excitement build lol

  • The best; the very best Kermit. I miss seeing you on "The Muppet Show." So many years ago, so many memories of not missing a moment on Monday nights with our children. We love this song so much that my daughter chose it for her wedding reception "first dance" song.

  • Jolly good on you Helixsniper, that was brilliant xxxx

  • I'm sure last time I looked for this, it had been removed? how fab its back again. Makes me cry, thought not sure why x

  • It's another vid ... always been removed and ... haha ... swearing a lot on its because of removing their childhood ... Great song heeh

  • ahhh.. why do i cry when i hear this?? =)

it's an integral part of my childhood! I love this song, movie, jim henson!!! it reminds me of when times seemed good... and gives me hope they will again! HOORAY KERMIT! =)

  • Hi Halley42, many people never notice that age discrepancy. However, like some puppets and mascots, the time that they are created is used for the age of the character. I adapted one of my other personas, which was that I did Sam the Olympic Eagle for the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Games, and that's the Olympic year. I was actually born in 1950. In face I had taken a day off of work to be sure that I didn't miss the opportunity to be in this historic event.

  • All of the comments posted here brought me goose bumps. I was one of the extra puppeteers making the Original Muppet Movie. I participated in the closing sequence, and we were the first to hear this song. I never get tired of hearing it! Hats off to Jim Henson and Paul Williams.

  • Your profile says that you are 24 and in college.

When you worked on the Muppet Movie, which was released in 1979, you were minus six years old.

Such talent at such an early age.

  • lol

  • I saw Andy sing this on the Office and fell in love with it!

  • this is the next movie on my Netflix. Should be getting it tomorrow!

  • I noticed two people commented that this was going to be their first dance song. I had to smile - it's going to be ours as well!

I can't listen to this song without crying. period. it's that powerful, 30 years later.

  • I know what you mean. I'm crying my eyes out listening to this. So good.

  • Me too! I cry as i watch and hear the beauty of illusions. And don't know how to describe it or how to type it in my keyborad the words appropriate for the entire picture of this rainbow that connects us all.

  • I had a tear in my eye watching this... I sing this to my children everynight. I notice some comments stated that there children say thing like he is only a puppet. My kids know who he muppets are because they don't get to watch modern cartoons. They love the muppets and I get to re-watch it after all these years.

  • Kermit is real.

I'mm 22 and there's no fucking way the Muppets don't exist. I'll always believe in them.

  • You're right. In one way or another all of our childhood icons are completely real.

  • @evilhopscotch - Don't ever watch the Goodies episode "Earthanasia".

  • @evilhopscotch I completly agree with you. I'm 22 and when I'm in a pissy mood. There's nothing like the muppets to make it better.

  • It broke my heart when watching this video ans my 5 year old daughter said, "Kermit the frog is only a puppet". I am not ready for her to stop beleiving.

  • I'm 24 and still firmly believe that Kermit is real. The Christmas special with John Denver is still my favourite. Truly magical. I can imagine it's hard to hear your daughter say that Kermit is only a puppet. I think it's a kind of magic that is not really recognised by kids nowadays.

  • Sadly in today's ultra high paced fast world imagination is usually the first thing to die in a child I will never lose mine...nore do i ever want to grow up 100% always keep that child alive in you..someone once said thers a little boy inside every grown man just like there's a grown man inside every little boy and a little girl inside ever grown woman just as there's a grown woman inside every little girl - Lhotp Reference lol

  • thanks that made my day. take care:)

  • I am going to try and find the rainbow connection xD ^^

  • I agree Phantom Breath... And hey, there... Shagr14 give her typing a break... it doesn't matter if you make a few typos does it.. :-) I LOVE THIS SONG.. I am 60 yrs old and my two daughters who are now 33 and 41 loved the movie!!!! Have a great day everyone..

  • Kermit's a lefty, just like me. :)

  • all the muppets are leftys because the right hand is moving the mouth sooo they are leftys

  • Kermit's indeed left-handed Kymphony, as is Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and certain other guitar and bnjo players.

  • well played for putting this on,the muppets really were a great show.

it really takes me back!i still have the cassette my dad bought me of it.i'm 30 now and it makes me wish i was 7 again!!

  • omg i own this movie!

i'm probably going to go watch it now! i love it :D

  • omg dis wuz da sht back wen i wuz a young bull!!! i rly luved dis freakin song!!! its like so beautiful!!!!

  • wow from your typing i'd guess you were 12, this movies liek 2 times that age.

  • THIS IS MY SHIT!!!

I'm going to do it the next time that I do karaoke, if they have it.

  • Someday we'll find it. Whatever It is, Jim, we need more of it.

  • THANK YOU for this!! I was 8 years old when this movie came out. What a sweet memory. <3 Muppets forever.

  • we're singing this in choir ; ]

  • has any1 noticed kermits left handed

  • haha your so right haha i love kermit.

  • jim henson was right handed and used it to move kermits head. thus his left hand was used for kermit's.

  • he was truely left-handed ;)

  • Hell yeah!

  • We're singing this song in my school choir. My choir teacher is a pretty big Kermit fan, and has a very good impression of him too!

  • Listening to this song, makes me miss Jim Henson even more. *sighs*

  • RIP Jim.. we love you.

  • My mom used to sing this to me when I was little to help me go to sleep. Still brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it....It reminds me of happier times.

  • @datubaman1984 My father used to do the same. :)

  • "The Rainbow Connection" was written by Paul Williams and nominated for a Best Song Oscar in 1979. Unfortunately, it didn't win, but it SHOULD have!

  • Argh! Hit down thumb instead of up thumb. :(

Agreed, it should have. Paul Williams + Jim henson is a beautiful thing.

  • 1979 was a great year for songs that were worthy of winning. Along with "Rainbow Connection", "The Rose" and "9 to 5" were also nominated. All would have been worthy winners, but the Oscar went to "It Goes Like It Goes" from Norma Rae, a song I haven't heard since. Oscar voters make some peculiar choices.

  • If you like this version, you should listen to Kenny Loggins sing this song. His version will make you wish you were a child again living in happier times.

  • i feel old as shit.

  • I sang this song in the sixth grade , Meadows Elementary. As I recall , we sounded goooooood. Im 40 yrs old now and still remember my mom out in the audience. Love you mom , see you in heaven.

  • Hug? *stretches arms out*

  • Thanks for this!! I love this song and I love Kermit!

  • whenever i hear this song, i think of my brother RIP JJ

  • greatest song ever ~

  • I never realized Kermit was left handed....

  • i think all the muppets are

  • except if the muppeteer was left handed him/herself.

  • The Muppet Show, the best thing that ever came from the USA besides liberating us from the NAZIs

  • Wow...this song reminds me of my daughter...we used to sing this together when she was a little munchkin...now she's 29! I've got to tell her I found this! Thank you whoever posted this!

  • no problem

  • I can't believe I was able to share this with my kids... thanks!

  • your welcome

  • thank god for the wonderful world of jim henson! he is missed

  • Such a wonderful and hopeful song!

  • Thanks for posting man. I'm sure the Warner blood suckers will be around to piss on the parade, but at least I got to enjoy it first :)

  • that brings back childhood memories. life was so simple back then

  • life is still simple, if you let it be.

  • Thank you thank you thank you for posting this song!!! I was looking for the original for the longest time, only to have the audio track removed by YouTube.

Jim Henson is my hero. I admire his talent, creativity, and ability to use puppets to appeal to kids and adults. Classic Sesame Street is one of the best collection of characters and songs. They always tug at my heart strings

  • god bless kermit the frog!!

  • I luv this song its amazing and beautiful. makes me cry when i hear it thats how beautiful it is.

  • Wow. Very evocative. :(

  • Kermit plays the banjo left-handed.

  • Yeah, all Muppets are left-handed. (So am I. I'm glad I have something in common with Kermit.)

    This song is so beautiful.

  • Thank you for posting this song. I've always loved it. Sesame Street taught me my letters and numbers and wonderful other things. If you are not familiar with Paul Williams, who wrote this song, you should check him out. He is quite an amazing talent, as is everyone associated with the muppets.

  • Your welcome

  • Beautiful!!

  • Was Jim Henson under water?

  • Yeah with a scuba tank and an underwater microphone lol

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, I used to view this clip from time to time.

And noticed that it had been removed (or muted) for some time for some reasons.

    Thx for posting again!

  • I had a friend who used this song. The user name was BobthePizzaBoy. Unfortunately, His account got suspended. It was because WMG claimed this song. And WMG decided to not just delete the video, But also delete the video along with BobthePizzaBoy's account.

  • WMG BETTER LEAVE THIS ALONE!!! they are resaponsable for killing a lot of memories... This was the first movie I saw with my twin brother and my sister... I don't want jim to vanish from here ANYMORE.. If WMG Removes this I pray that someone will take them down... I lover Kermie and always will...

  • beautiful song. im so delighted to have a chance to sing this as a solo. :)

im bummed i miss you kermit but you will always be my favorite :)

  • It's not easy being green ;-)

  • I'm 61 years old and this is still one of my favorite songs. It lifts the heart. Thanks for posting!

  • Jim Henson had a beautiful vision of the world. I can feel every ounce of the love he put into making this wonderful world of his in every note of this song. :

  • Sad to say there are some ppl who just don't understand/ listen to the message in the song and realize what the world is truly all about. Usually there the new generation of kids who like to watch cartoons that involve some sort of lure to entice kids to buy cards and/or merchandise from the production companies.

  • BEST SONG SUNG BY A FROG EVER

  • AND HOW!

  • That's right! This is THE "Official Muppet Anthem", I call it. For those of you who don't know, this song was ranked #74 on AFI's Top 100 songs from movies. B-U-T-ful song it is! I LOOOOOVE this song with all my heart! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 : ) : ) : ) : ) : )

  • heh i grew up watchign this show

  • one of my favorite movies

  • I'm sad I missed this as a kid.

I never watched Kermit the Frog.

  • I got to see this movie back in 1989, when i was 5. Ever since then this song has stuck to me.

  • Such a beautiful song . . . I hope we do find the rainbow connection someday. This song is full of hope and has a beautiful meaning. Why can't music today have it anymore? RIP Jim Henson . . . you were truly a genius who did not deserve to die at 53 years. I hope if I have kids one day, I'll sing it to them as a lullaby.

  • oh thankyou for putting that on youtube it was lovley

  • Your very welcome

  • Ah Jim Henson you made a great service to this world. Us as grown up kids still miss those endearing friends that you gave us.

  • this is the greatest song i have ever heard written for a movie. as if the muppets weren't enough of an epic win. =) <3

  • Totally agree! That first strain always bring a tear to my eye!

  • beautiful

  • He's so cute haha. Especially at the end when all the lyrics are done and he's singing, "Dah, dah dee, dah dah doo".

  • * cries*

  • i have never heard this song before. i love this song.but when he said why are the so many songs about rainbows...his song was about rainbows too lol
