Pepper era John composed most of his home demos on a mellotron (an early synth). The cello and piano sounds were most likely the instruments programmed that day. On the background you can hear Cello.
Also you can hear accompaniament of piano.
As to that high sound during whole of video....
I really don't know what is it but i think is Violin but is kind of extract sounds ;]
