How does the shield system work in this game? The shield was there for the whole level. (Not played it, but planning to. I'd just like to know that first!)

@xXRazorfistXx .you can swiitch between 2 colors in shields, red and blue. and enemies shoot ether red or blue shots. depending on your shield color you can absorb the bullets if your shield is the same color as the bullet.

@Rajalae Thanks, I burned this onto my Dreamcast recently actually. Great game I must say, especially on co-op. The only real issue I had with it was that the speed of the ships were pretty slow, but it's only a minority. Even till this gen, I still find this game visually and physically stunning.

I think I've heard of this game before.....do you change shields depending on the ammo used against you? Or does the ammo you get hit with fuel your shield? (like black ammo fuels your black shield).

@Omega1874 Three in a row of one color and you can get that color shield. If you get three blues, you can change to blue shield. If someone fires blue at you now, you cannot be damaged by it. However, if someone fires red/ black (your last color). you will be damaged

@Omega1874 You are correct. Ammo of the same colour of your shield powers it up. Both shields have independent power levels.

An ammo shot at you with a colour different from your shield will damage you. But if you shoot an enemy with different colour, you get double points had you shot it with same colour.

I have this on xbox360, ive beat all the bosses under a week but i cant get a grade higher than c+

all those chain attacks i cant do so i stick with regular killing

also got all achievements except for the grade a or higher achievements
