There's also a dragon, and a frog! put them together and you got a whole bunch of scary moving papers :O btw if it doesnt work for you if you try, you should close one eye! if looking through a camera, a camera doesnt have 2 lenses which are combined like our "system"

They both work and don't work. If you visualise it as it working, and expect it to look like it's looking at you, it works. If you know the secret and simply look at it like it's the inside bit of a folded piece of paper, the illusion fails, and it looks normal.
