Yea i agree music score plays an important role in enhancing and making the movie more "intense" and make the viewers delve into the scene itself..I am a fan of music score whenever i watched a movie and wasnt suprise that hans zimmer was one of the composer.

@gabedeitz From 1:51 to 3:30 parts of the song was used in the scene where Batman was rescuing the hostage from the abandon building near the end. I remember cause I specific scene where Lucious Fox was telling Batman that Gotham SWAT was ready to breach.  So Batman has to take out Joker's goons, save the hostage and take out SWAT without hurting the hostages and them. The soundtrack at that scene stirred up a sense of determination, dedication, desperation and nobility.

@gabedeitz It was originally intended to be used somehow during the Tumbler/Batpod vs Joker Semitrailer chase sequence, but ultimately Nolan decided to use no music at all during that sequence.

i agree. the beginning reminds me of some of shirley walker's pieces on batman: the animated series. the use of strings, all fast and w/e. i wish i knew music terms, but i don't.

Yeah, I've been looking into playing this song myself in a synth program - It's called "staccato strings" using the notes D through A, A#, as far as I can tell. I think it kind of goes like, E,D,E,D,E,D in fast succesion - goes up and down notes.
