I just LOVE that you caught the original Jack Wagner closing announcement...haven't heard that in years: "Walt Disney World's MAIN STREET ELECTRICAL PARADE!" Thanks for sharing this and part 1. Greatest parade in history.
this is so AMAZING! Classic...they don't even have the It's A Small World float anymore! I'm guessing you had to stop the tape on the Dumbo and Pinnochio floats though; too bad I really wanted to see Pinochio because that was dismantled too. Thanks for uploading!
@Dragonrider1227 The Pinocchio float was removed in around 1983-ish...I think...well I have a tape from 1982 and a tape from 1985 and the first has the Pinocchio and the second doesn't....and another source says it was removed in 1983.
Actually, WDW had a Pinocchio float at one point (the Underwater version) but it was removed in the early 1980s for unknown reasons, around the same time it was replaced in Disneyland with the Pleasure Island Pinocchio.
Well, I know that. I go to see it practically every weekend. I'm just really missing it at Disneyland though. Main Street feels so empty and lonely now. :(
I guess. But you know, some things don't change at Disneyland. There are some attractions that have been there for over 50 years. Why? They're like staples of the park. Why can't there be a staple parade? Just as Fantasmic and the fireworks are nightly staples. The parade WAS a staple for 24 years at D-land. That's a quarter of D-land's life. That has to be good for something. Saying that is like saying they're getting rid of the Peter Pan ride because they need to "move on."
That's true. That's very true. Fireworks is a whole other media itself. Main St. Electrical Parade is a staple nighttime parade above others because it was the FIRST. Spectromagic, Fantillusion, and Dream Lights were created because of the Main St. Electrical Parade. MSEP is the granddaddy of all night parades. So does that mean we're going to send grandpa to the rest home we saw on 60 minutes?
LOL! "Where do we want to spend our retirement? California Adventure! It's WAY better than the rest home on 60 minutes. They even have hospice care." LOLLLLL!
LOL funny. frankly, i'm pretty sure they just built DCA just so they can put in their old parades and have an excuse to put their WDW attractions in California
LOL! Thanks. That's what I think also. It just seems too convenient, you know? They've mixed some rides from WDW with some Pixar attractions and characters, and of course the Main Street Electrical Parade.
Yes, Disneyland was first, however Disney's California Adventure was MUCH later. Well after Walt Disney World. I think they developed DCA as a place to put things from WDW that wouldn't fit in Disneyland's main area (Stuff from the MGM studio or Epcot so to speak.)
THANK YOU. ive seen this at 6 yrs old and 10 yrs old... then again the last yr they had it (a few yrs ago) I am very upset they got rid of it, it was an important part of generation's memories at WDW. Im glad my son was able to see it with me the last time... (he was around 5 yrs old) THANKS AGAIN

Wherever it is, bring it back.

Is it me or is the "new" way they do things now with the singing and commentary during their "new way" parades somewhat anoying?
I miss it when it was fun like this electrical parade.

We never stopped the tape when recording this. I don't think there was a Pinnochio float

Dragonrider1227 is correct. WDW never had a Pinnochio float. That was unique to Disneyland CA.

Disney World neeeds a new Electrical Parade BADLY. Spectromagic is TERRIBLY outdated.

Absoutely Brilliant; thank you for posting (I worked in the Main Street Electrical Parade in the 70's, in Disneyland - what GREAT memories...)

I guess I can understand that. Though Disneyland is a place of evolution and growing. Eventually, they'd have to move forward with something else

yeah, but for the record, they've change fireworks shows too. The staple isn't just Main St. Electrical Parade, but nighttime parades in general

hmm, interesting point. But I believe that's why they put it in california adventure

This is a treasure. You have no idea. I'm upset that it's gone from both parks. We should form a coalition to make Disney bring it back.

They moved it to California Adventure so it still lives ;)
