Linda was so freaking cool....I had posters of her all over my room growing up. I wish she would have been more in the forefront....She was, Best Friend, Wife, Mother, singer/songwriter and homemaker............that makes her amazing in my book
I played on this track. What a trip to find it here!
This was one of three songs originally recorded in the McCartney's barn for a "vegan" documentary to be aired on BBC. I was in LA doing studio work at the time. They sent the master tapes to LA to have their engineer Alvin Clark finish the songs.
We did this at a studio in the San Fernando Valley (can't remember the name) on a Kurzweil K250 and a LinnDrum. I performed all the synths, synth bass, orchestral horns, strings, choir and bells.
There were no guitars on the track when we sent it back, those were added later.
There's a second version of this song on YouTube, but this is much closer to the sound of the original. Listen to the bells in the first chorus, just before she sings "The white coated man", those are omitted in the other version.
and let's not forget great photographer

This is a cool version! It has more bass and humph, for lack of a better term. Linda was hip.
