play fighting- they roll around, biteing each others ears and bums, and there is no hissing, or loud screams (unless one gets hurt by accident, then they scream, hiss, and carry on playing again)
Real fighting- they stare at each other, jump and scratch for the head. There is loud screams and hissing.
how can you tell the difference between play fighting and hostile fighting? I have a 9week and a 12-13 week...I had the older one 1st, the hissing has stopped but all they do is 'play' fight...how can I tell?
i have three cats my self one is 7 months and one is 4 months and those two play fight to but i'm worryed about it because my 7 month old is much biger! i'm thinking he may hurt the 4 month old
thats how my kittens play but they growl and hiss at eachother

also when playing, they wrap round each other, and kick each other in the head with both real paws, very weird!!

dont worry they will not hurt each other in a play fight no matter the size differnce as long as it is a play fight... keep on eye on them.

thankies! I now have 5!

Agreed. There's a vid of a kitten play fighting with a very large dog on here. If they really are just playing, the size difference shouldn't matter.
