A nice way to beat this guy, is to use that duck bike for the little ppland do a wheelie for most of the track, thats how i beat him after about a hundred tries....

For the people who are having trouble, using Toadette+Magikruiser really helps. The water does not slow down this bike. (much)

I use Yoshi and the Mach Bike, and I can never seem to beat the unlock time in Shy Guy Beach (1:39) 'cause I slow down in shallow water.

@AquariusCyclone the mach isnt known for its offroad, so you might want to choose a bike or kart with better off road.

Okay, this is beyond frustrating!!! I have raced this one race at least 20 times and can't beat my time. Every other race, I've beaten without hesitation, but this one level is kicking my butt! If you can give me any kind of advice, it'd be appreciated. My current fastest time is 2:42:988.

Moonview highway? I used the Dolphin dasher. It's easier to weave between the oncoming cars and the drift is nice.

4. race a circuit

5. after that race, look left under, it will say: ghost data could not be saved, that means you did not did it. and it can say: ghost data is saved for..., that means you did it.

well I'm guessing you have to beat all the staff ghosts provided with the game, then once that's done go to time trials and look through the courses till you find a staff ghost with a higher time than the one you beat with the normal ghost. It'll only unlock one ghost at a time though.

For anyone still having trouble with the crabs: I found out it's best if you just dash straight at em, try to hit em as hard as you can.

You'll hit em as often as you dodge em now.. hardly ever >__>

Finally unlocked this, my last one. Just choose the Koopa Trooper & magikcruiser as someone mentioned above & it's easy. I was getting nowhere as Kong. I don't like these bikes though. It's Mario KART!

I'm not understanding something. How does the ghost not lose speed by skimming small puddles of water? On the first lap, for example, he skips a jump, choosing to cross the water instead, seemingly maintaining speed. How does he do that?

I did unlock the bike he was using recently, though, and it has near max offroad stats. A big help on that course.

thanks for the vid. i usually use yoshi/mario/diddy on the mach bike but after watchin this i decided to use koopa on the magikruiser n got 1:34 - beatin my previous record by 8 seconds lol. it's offroad ability is invaluable because without it goin across the water rle slows you down

Meh that was really really hard to unlock! I basically copied this apart from i tried not to slide much as the slide on that bike is way too sharp! Use the same character and Bike as the expert and boost where he does and just wheely 24/7!
