You can get out of that pit if you play as Knuckles because he can climb out. He may be a shitty jumper, but his wall climbing/ gliding more than makes up for it. Sucks he doesn't change colors upon becoming super.

Hahaha, i like the way on make tails fall from that colapsing plataform, the way you make him get hit by those spikes and basically the way you leave him behind. Well i have nothing against tails but.... Wait a second.... I do have something against tails!! He basically is off the screen 50% of the time and when he's near, he's trying to get the rings that I JUST GOT and kill the enemies I JUST KILLED!! And those annoying running into bombs moves in special stages... OH GOD...!!

It might be possible to get out of the pit if there is a second controller to control tails and have him fly you out. Dunno if that works in sonic 2 though, I know it does for 3 and I know 2P can control tails.

This is the best Sonic The Hedgehog 1 ,2, 3 and Knuckles Lets Play ever. I have watched these videos muitple times in the past and they are still good to watch over and over again. Theres no way out of that Spike Pit Of Doom but i think there is only one guy who can get out and his name is Knuckles. During invincibility fall down and then climb back up. Obvously you will have connect Sonic The Hedgehog 2 cartridge to Sonic & Knuckles in order to do this though.

There is a VERY EASY way to avoid the spike pit:

Take the upper path. I always took the upper path because it's overall easier and I could never get past those six rotating crates on the lower path without being crushed.

I've never really liked "Attraction Park" zones.

The first time you played Mystic Cave Zone, you can notice it's not a speed level. So yes, I've lost a few rings there and be cautious. But once you've got the idea of how the level is working and what kind of traps you can find there, it's not that hard

But I recognise that Mystic Cave is quite a challenging zone.
