I spent a lot of time there this summer, a credit to the residents and city is that I enjoyed the 4th there and many places were open even Wendys. I was sad to see the pier in such terrible condition still. I love hanging out in Bolivar and Galveston, close to home and lots of fun.
Well I was trying to flee at noon; the weather people told us the surge would not begin to come in badly until 6PM; the vid was shot at 10AM. The storm surge came many hours sooner than all the experts expected and we almost did not make it out. I wish we had started the video from my home because we had to travel through 2 feet of water for awhile and my car was trying to dye, but we did make it out and now I just wish we could go home.
