Wowzers! Stonking animation - but what's it all about?
I like the way the motion is has a speed limit and nothing moves very fast, or for that matter very slowly either. It gives the sensation of being very very very monged indeed...
I'm currently editing together three new interviews from Bruce at his home in Seattle. I filmed them back in March and they kind of got shelved as other projects surfaced. The will be up before the new year. Interviews on Attempted, Bruce's comic, the leaf project, and the comic that frenches your mind, etc.
There is 10-15 minutes of "snippets" of such films on the Monster Road special edition DVD, in the special features. (but the thing is, you can watch each one of them many times, because your eyes follow something different every time you watch it...)
i made a copy of this when I stayed at Bruce's back in March. I was so happy when I found it and actually shot an interview with Bruce about that specific piece. I'll post the interview soon.
Thank You Ryan! I got a DVD from Brian >Prosser that had this on it...but all I could see was white and hear the voices (bickford's?) Anyway, can't wait fer the interview!!!
Even at the cinema screening I saw, the projection was a little out of focus. So I don't think I've ever actually seen a "proper" version of this film.
Hmm, maybe not THAT nice. It would surely be a lot better if it was released on DVD or Bluray. I guess it was just really out-of-focus in the theatre.
I saw this a few months ago at a "Best of Ottawa" screening in Toronto. Probably my favourite film of the selection. I hope that Bruce Bickford releases more of these in the future.
for me - a lot 0f what makes this sh0rt s0 c00l is the audio. So I really wasn't dissappointed with the c0py you gave me - just wanted a little m0re was all. This completes 1t.
The audio definitely helps when watching it for the first time, but on subsequent viewings I find that I'm tuning it out to focus on things happening visually that the audio is not drawing attention to.
This is your brain on Bruce Bickford!

I love it. Different to Bickford's other works. Reminds me of BLU or Carl Krull.

Outstanding!
Mr. B, did you supervise the soundtrack?
As a whole the piece is very excellent.
Thank You.

It really has to be seen in HD, though. You can barely see what's going on at lower resolutions.

exactly. This is much better than other copies out there tho.

But you're right, this is nice if you view the HD version. I think it's even better than it was in the theatre...
