Tru lowered the odds of winning after the scheduled end of the contest by extended the deadline. That is not fair.

I feel ripped off. Yeah, it didnt cost any money to enter but it did cost me time. If I had known that the contest was going to be open for like another week, I wouldnt have bothered to make a video because it would have seemed much harder to win. Plus, people who enter late have a huge avdantage because they can watch all the other entries and learn from our mistakes.

Very sorry to hear that. However, there have been great entries at all stages of this competition. We haven't seen any evidence that later entries have been better entries. This contest has been going for over a month now and everyone has done a fantastic job.

That said, we have given everyone the opportunity to re-edit or add to their video if they so choose. If you feel like you could improve your entry now that you've seen the others, please do!

TRU mentioned they are not really serious about the time limit.

They said in one of their comments: "We just don't want to be watching 20 minute videos and we feel that you can adequately answer all of our questions in about 4 minutes."

Try very hard to stick to the 2-4 minutes. If you feel you have a lot of great stuff to say, you can push it, but...try your best, it won't disqualify you, but if you end up with a 10-15 minute video make sure your good stuff is early, we may not make it through the whole thing.

I understand that TRU's are doing market research. But what they have online is a contest and they already set the rules, so why won't they stick on it. Anyway those who would like to share their ideas, and opinions about going green could submit their videos even their videos will not be included in the contest, right. Put yourself in TRU's shoes. They're doing market research, so of course they want as many quality responses as possible. Why do anything to limit that?

For the minimal amount of work, and no expectation of video production talent, this is the most generous video contest I've ever seen. 30 prizes?! That's insane.

Don't complain about the sanctity of deadlines and say it's not about the money. Be grateful that TRU is offering so many chances to win, without criticizing their decisions.

When we were brainstorming this contest as a way to get a discussion going about the whole green thing, I really pushed for a lot of prizes so that we could really reward a lot of people for sharing their insights with us.

Our biggest goal with this is just to get a dialogue and a discussion going.

I understand you guys. I'm sorry for uploading so late. I think, to be fair for all of us, Tru should deduct our scores. It's like passing a project so late, but the instructor still accept it. But the maximum grade of the late projects will be lower than the maximum grade of those who uploaded their videos before and on the deadline.

It'll be okay for me if you do it that way. If my video will not get accepted then it's okay too since it's actually really my fault.

Yes I do hope I win something since I started a green group in my community and we are doing things to change our city and we need some sort of money to start the projects that we have in mind like setting up a recycling program. The deadline was clearly defined, Sept 21. People should have taken all precautions to assure their video was prepared and uploaded prior to that. I posted mine three days early just in case. We should not promote giving people infinite chances to get their act together when others fairly met the deadline. HOWEVER, they are not receiving infinite chances, they're getting one more out of sympathy, and if it's not up by then they're out. It's entirely rational and not worth complaining about.

What's with all the bitterness? Is money all this is about? I see many complaints about unfairness, or lowered chances to get the money. Hey, I'd love to win, but I don't expect to, and I won't begrudge others their chance.

My vid didn't process until well past midnight, and only then did I notice I'd completely missed some of the questions. I could use this time to remake it - but I won't. I kinda like my vid. I'm sure someone else could use the money more than me. And I wish good luck to all.

Why was the deadline extended? I'm just saying that people knew when the deadline was, and if they had trouble submitting the video that one night, why didn't they enter it beore? It's like a homework assignment. If you procrastinate and have last minute issues, your teacher won't extend the deadline. I personally think its unfair. Just my opinion

A lot of people were first person YouTubers and they were having a lot of trouble uploading. Several people spent their weekend creating videos just like you only to have problems on Sunday night uploading.

I promised several people that they'd have the option to submit their videos if they figured out the uploading process. We met this morning and decided we had another week in September, so we'd extend it.

2 Things to check:

1) Video must be less than 10 minutes or YouTube! will reject it.

2) Your video must be less than 100mb or YouTube! will reject it.

Also, there is no progress bar on YouTube! uploads. It just says uploading. Sometimes it will look like its just sitting there. Just let it be. If you close the window or hit stop or go back, it will stop uploading.

A few people have emailed me to ask about the entry that seems somewhat "anti" green. I want to be clear that we're looking for honesty...not that you tell us what you think we want to hear. A winning entry could be someone who feels strongly that "going green" isn't good...provided they give a good answer too all the questions.
