GST is one of the drivers of collecting revenue for the Government to redistribute the wealth of the country. When Singapore economy is doing well, the government needs to ensure there is a tax system to collect a portion of this growth
The only issue is to ensure that the distribution is skewed towards the people and not just the leaders ..... fyi, I have personally not had a 13th month or increment for the past 3 years
Nevertheless, the private sector is resilient to continue to do well
