Whenever I am wondering whether to practice or not I am going to listen to Richard's solo in immortal and realise that no matter how much I practice I will never be close to the genius that is Richard Marshall - awesome sound!
@tpcornet12 Just keep on practising, You never know how good you can become. I play in 3 concert bands and a symphony orchestra here in the US. I played well enough to be in the Phila orchestra, NY Phil, etc. I happend to have chosen another route earlier. I am now playing professionally again. Because of having played trumpet, I had the good fortune to sing in the chorus of the Metropolitan opera for 12 years. Need i say more?
I was there and all I can say is that it was breathtaking. When the band played Immortal it was that good it sent shivers down my spine. So inspiring.
Wow..! I loved it, especially Widor at the end. That's what I like to see BBb bass players earning thier corn. I thought Danny Sinclairs head was either going to exlode, or disappear down the tubing.

A former German Repiano (BBS Hamburg) say thank you for the video of the still best BB in the world

@danielwills93
He has been playing a York Eminence, guessing that's what he is playing here too.

The euphonium is a boring sounding instrument with such a limited colour palette. Can't understand why someone would write a concerto for it.

@TheOldClosetPloy I know, it amazes me how easily he glides up to that top D, even after the heavy programme before they played this!!!

So much beauty.
Liked the piece very much. It's worth sticking through the composer's speech to the music he has written.
He'd be better to let the music do the talking, but it is worth waiting for, and the baritone horn part is simply extraordinary. Hats off!
