Those early 90s Hawk teams should have won more than they did. They were so damn good with Belfour, Chelios, and Roenick in their primes.

Agreed. They had an incredible defensive unit, but their problem was that they could never really build a solid second line. By the time Bernie Nicholls came in, Roenick was just about on his way out and the window seemed to have passed. That first line of Roenick, Amonte and sometimes Joe Murphy was a great one.

Also, Roenick to me never quite seemed to be the same player after the Hatcher check that put him out for an extended period, can't remember what year that was.

actually, Derian Hatcher had checked him on a FOX-televised game on Sunday, April 2nd, 1995. That's when Roenick was out for the entire regular-season and played some of the Blackhawks series against the Canucks and the Red Wings, if my memory serves me correct.

The good news is that Foley will be returning to the Hawks for the next season. Hopefully we will hear a lot more calls like that from him.  I gotta hand it to Rocky Wirtz and John McDonough, they have basically turned the entire franchise around in little than a year. When the last season began, the Hawks were oblivious to everyone as usual, when it ended, they looked to be one of the best teams in the near future with 2 potential super stars.
