Kind of silly bashing Yngwie, I mean here is Jason Becker playing an Yngwie song, do you really think he'd learn the song of a guy he doesn't respect to show him up? Of course not, Becker obviously appreciates Malmsteens music, which would make sense since they share a feel for Paganini in their music. Personally I prefer Malmsteen as his music just sounds better to me, i'd not say he is faster or can do things Becker couldn't.

Jason is a special talent (was, depending on your take) but all of this Becker vs. Malmsteen cackle is just that. Anyone talented enough to play Black Star could have written his own piece for this talent show but back then, it was bragging rights if you could play even half of what Yngwie was copping literally off the top of his head so Jason pays tribute to YJM for the mad respect he had for him. This isn't guitar Olympics, this is guitar hero worship on full display.

Holy shit this guy was good never realized how good he was until now. Some battle of the bands performance? Playing malmsteen at such a young age . He has superb control of the guitar already at what 16 17?. His tapping technique vibrato speed and knowledge is unreal. Did someone in his family play a guitar? @valdi9165 Both his father and uncle are guitar players. He started playing at the age of 5... got diagnosed with ALS when he was 19, and was given three to five years to live. That was in 1988, and he's still alive today, and even still composing. Thinking about what happened to him can literally make me burst into tears...
